This article doesn't shed a whole lot of light on what their marriage was like, but is interesting in many other ways.

For one, he met his first wife when she was 14 and married her when she was only 17 (he was 20). Her second husband knew them both and is the same age as Drew. According to him there was no physical abuse in that marriage, but there was infidelity. It sounds like it may have been Drew's happiest marriage.

Has he been trying to recreate that over and over with another young woman each time? And when the babies show up and the honeymoon is over, he gets sick of it and has to move on to rediscover the glow of new love?

With each marriage his behavior has escalated.

Wife #1) Cheating
Wife #2) Cheating, Emotional Abuse, some physical abuse
Wife #3) Cheating, Emotional and Physical Abuse, Stalking and Murder (allegedly:blushing: )

You do the math to figure out what happened to wife #4.

angel:

Any psychiatrist/psychologist would agree with you. Putting it out like that the way you did, definately shows the excalation of emotions/rage, etc. from DP.

Also, his MO appears to be that the wives are young, look like the first wife, he cheat's on them before marrying the next, having at least 2 kids.

I'm sure there is more...............

I've been googling my brains out trying to find something that's been nagging at me and can't find it. I'm hoping someone here can help.

I remember reading that Drew's recent suspension was unrelated to the investigations of Stacy and Kathleen. The article was vague, but did mention why he was suspended. It also mentioned that he had attempted to turn in his resignation and it was refused ... yet we now know he was able to retire and receive his pension.

Can anyone remember this article or point me to it?

What do you all make of this?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...ov15,0,71593,full.story?coll=chi_tab01_layout

Peterson, a 29-year veteran of the police force, was suspended without pay and the subject of an investigation into possible violations of department rules that were uncovered in the course of the Savio and Stacy Peterson investigations.

On Monday, he tendered a letter of resignation, but Chief Ray McGury refused to accept it, Lt. Ken Teppel said Wednesday. ........
The other reason was that investigators determined Peterson had violated department rules, and McGury wants him to face a hearing. Officials would not divulge the nature of the alleged violations.

Peterson is "going to be held accountable for this internal-affairs investigation," Teppel said. "This happened while he was an officer, wearing the department's uniform and badge, and he should be held accountable for it."

Teppel said the internal-affairs report had been forwarded to the Bolingbrook Fire and Police Commission.

But Kathleen Elliot, attorney for the commission, said McGury does not have the authority to refuse a resignation, and said the board will acknowledge it at its meeting next week.

Attorney Burt Odelson, who represents numerous towns and civil service commissions, said the Bolingbrook board has no choice but to accept Peterson's letter.

What I make of all of that is the resignation was not so much about the money as stopping the investigation. Drew was only 2 days from retirement when he handed in his resignation. So why the rush? It turns out he was probably going to get his pension regardless. The only benefit I see is stopping the internal investigation. I think Drew, the Mayor and others did not want to be exposed by info uncovered in an investigation.

Also, My understanding is the only way Peterson would have lost his pension is if he was fired for behavior unbecoming of an officer or convicted of a job related felony. Neither happened before the board met, so by law they had to grant his pension. Any charges and convictions in the future will not take away his pension.

Suzi, take a look at the blurb LittleDeer posted, maybe the decision isn't as final as previously reported.

Given DP's history with his wives, has there been any mention of his mother? I am a firm believer in how a man's relationship with all the women in his life is formed by the relationship he has with his mother.
Has his mother or father spoken out at all about Stacy missing?

VB

Amen and I have asked myself the same question but I believe his mother is dead. I would like to know more about that relationship there myself.

The link is from last Wednesday, IIRC. The board instead met on Thursday, night before last. By law they were bound to give Peterson his pension. It's a done deal.

The mother is alive and well her last name is now Murphy. She did an interview on TV where she praised her son and said that he and Stacey were happy.
If you look through the threads on Stacey you will find a link, I believe, to that interview with his mother.

A police source, however, said investigators do not count him as a suspect in Peterson's disappearance. Instead, the source said investigators have speculated that Peterson's body may have been dumped near Rossetto's home in an effort to frame him as the killer.
A police source said Rossetto and Peterson, 23, were romantically involved, but Rossetto insisted they were not. He said he only knew her because his brother and a friend had dated Peterson years ago, before she married former Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson. (More at Link)

Don't you just love the conflicting police sources! One claims he is romantically involved with Stacy and another feels that DP may be setting him up by dumping her body near his home.

In my opinion there is no reason to think Stacey was having an affair or cheating. She may have called up and old boyfriend or two....LOL
The second wife of this man has said that he "bugged" their home, and their telephone.
Stacey, being young and beautiful, makes me think that this aging 53 yo man with bags under his eyes would NEVER let her that far out of sight.

Thank goodness for phone records! They would be able to track how much contact there was between the two. Good sign that LE is following up on phone records. Interesting theory about the body being placed to frame Rossetto. If that were the case though, I would think Drew would have left Stacy in a spot easy to find, or left a clue as to where she is.

ETA: I love Rossetto's attitude towards Drew!

You know why Drew was so paranoid his wives were cheating on him? Because he's guilty of being a serial adultery.
