You are right! If Brodsky and DP were absolutely confident in his alibi...they would be shouting it from the rooftops in order to clear his client's name already and get them on another track.

The money yes. But I can't remember where the info came from that DrewP pleaded the 5th in the Grand Jury. I think that may have been an anonymous source. Still could be someone who had talked to DrewP (who most likely told that he was told by his attorney not to talk in the GJ- at least that is the usual advice.) That person or person's may have told media but since they were a "friend" they may have asked not to be identified. (Ric Mims or Steve C. are the two I am thinking about.) But media probably dropped the fact that DrewP was advised to take the 5th by his attorney.

I think Drew pleading the fifth was evident by the amount of time he was in the GJ courtroom. I don't think anyone actually announced he took the fifth but that his time in the courtroom was consistent with pleading the fifth. The leak woulda been courthouse observers probably.

I know they say you can't base guilt on someone who takes the fifth, but isn't pleading the fifth actually saying you cannot speak because if you do...you can incriminate yourself? Doesn't this mean you DO have things to hide?

When a defendent doesn't testify in his own behalf in trial the jury can't hold that against him. I'm not sure the same can be said of pleading the fifth, I think juries see that all the time but I could be way off....Its a basic right that we all enjoy and no good would come of Drew testifying in front of the grand jury about either Kathleen or Stacy...no good for Drew that is.

There is little to no chance DP will testify if there is a trial in either case.

Hard to say really. That would depend on the evidence (assuming there is some if it goes to trial) and his defense team.

Usual attorney practice is that the client doesn't testify. However, this is not your usual attorney/client. Usual attorney practice is that the client doesn't talk to media, and the attorney only offers vague comments on the info... but you know that hasn't happened in this case. Both have been very verbal.

It wouldn't suprise me if DrewP went on the stand. Remember this guy thinks he can explain everything by being 'sincere', talking 'openly' and reminding people that he has led an 'honorable' life. At least in his version.

Isn't this the way it should be if the timeline is accurate and true? Why would anyone find a need to go back and change it later? You tell LE where you were during the time in question and they verify it. The initial statement shouldn't change. Right? (BTW~I added the bold to the line above.)

According to this, the cell phone info is what they are saying leaked from the Grand Jury. (though from the way it is worded that may not be the only thing)
JAB is saying it was leaked from the GJ. But IIRC, that came from an unnamed police source- which means that it didn't necessarily come from the GJ, it came from the investigation. And LE has discretion to release info as needed for the investigation. (though since it was an unnamed source, it could have come from the GJ)

Actually, I went back to the first thread to find out. His son, Steve, came to get the children on Nov. 2 and DP drove off on a motorcycle later.
