Suspicious behavior of Haleigh Cummings father

It irritates me that the front door is never mentioned by Ron or Misty. What???? Are kidnappers trained to use side or back doors only??? Entirely too much is said by the two of them regarding only one door to the home.

That's an excellent point! He leaves for work in the early afternoon, but he always checks the back door to make sure it's locked. Never mind the kids are going in and out the front door, eating on the porch, etc, but you gotta make sure that back door is locked! What a crock.

I could see him checking a back door every day. He's paranoid, but also has lots of enemies. Waves the gun around a lot, you know?

IMO, "suspicious" doesn't quite do justice to Ronald Cummings telling Misty EXACTLY where his "stolen" gun was hidden in a drainage culvert over fifteen miles from where he lived!

From the 12:48 mark of Misty's LVA:

There's very few ways he could know something like that.

So are you saying the gun was found in the culvert near Timmy's house? Don't know why but for some reason dumb me has been thinking it was found near Tommy's house... close to Green Lane..

IF by chance Misty was enroute to Timmy's house with Haleigh, I'm wondering if the incident occurred near or at Timmy's house and IF LE even checked out that residence before they moved to Mass...JMO

It's my understanding that it was at Timmy's house.

I don't have a link or anything that says for sure which brother's house the gun was at, but I went back to the LVA just now and Misty describes the gun "coming up missing" and then says "So I went down to my brother's house....."

I realize it's certainly not definitive, but going "down" to her brother's house strikes me as indicating a trip of distance in a southerly direction, as opposed to going "over" a couple of blocks in an easterly direction to Tyler.

This is coupled with it being my understanding that Joe was staying with Timmy. The gun being "found" at Timmy's would seem to more closely fit the "Joe stole the gun" story being spread.

Well that makes two of us Em cause I thought it was Tommy's home on Tyler where the gun was found as well. Now-re-adjusting my mind around this info...Witnesses have stated that it was Misty who picked HaLeigh up at the bus stop that day and headed away from Green lane (to where, unknown), not home to kiss her daddy goodbye before he left for work. So did Misty go to Timmy's at that time to retrieve the gun? Was HaLeigh accidentally shot? Was her body discarded somewhere nearer to Timmy's home? And finally, Is that why Ronald is covering - because the gun belonged to him and was possibly used and could implicate him in another crime? More Questions!!! Sorry, need to take some deep breathes here... :banghead:

TY Concerned Papa - could you refreshen my memory as to what city Timmy lived in? TIA!

Looking back at some of the videos, TN's choice of a jacket stands out like a sore thumb.

Doesn't it though?! I'm one that tried to give her the benefit of doubt early on and never thought too much of the jacket. A little odd, yeah..but no biggie, and not anything done purposely...or so I thought way back when. BUT, I also thought that she was employed as a dispatcher (somewhere!) at the time HaLeigh disappeared. Now we know that it had been a quite a long time since she was employed in that area.. or employed period it seems. Watching these videos again, there are so many little things I noticed that I didn't before.

I've always thought that R & M were both guilty, although for a very short period of time I believed that possibly Misty was the one primarily responsible. Even that.. was only because of Ron supposedly 'bein et werk' from 4-3. Or whatever hrs. one chooses to use. I, myself DO NOT believe that Ron worked the entire shift that he was scheduled for and/or that he may not have been able to leave/return undetected, I just don't. I'm not even sure that LE has that nailed down..I hope I'm wrong on that, but if they did and could prove it ..it's mo that he would have been arrested for HaLeigh's disappearance by now..JMHO tho..:)

This clip was extremely fascinating to me as well. From NG titled "HaLeighs dad to wed girlfriend?" The whole thing makes me :croc:, but about 1/4 of the way thru there is a little montage to the right of the screen that shows a close up of Ronald's face all contorted TRYING so hard to squeeze out tears, to no avail, but it's not from a lack of trying.:sick::sick:

THANK YOU for posting these vids! Big Thanks for to all of the contributors and to whomever it is that compiled them as well!

i think you are giving misty too much credit here, as far as north, south, whatever, it could be down a hill...:)

You must be reading my mind. I've been trying to pin down the timeline of the gun missing and the "finding" of the gun in the culvert. Amazing how Ron was right on in guessing just where it would be, huh? I have read that the "gun incident and fight happened a day prior to Haleigh disappearing and I've read that it was the very same day as the 911 call (February 10, 2010) that Ron instructed Misty on where to find the gun. Does anyone have the correct dates that the "missing gun", fight with Joe over gun, and the amazing discovery of the gun?

that seems about right for a timeline....interesting thing is that either ron is a liar or his mother Teresa is......funny how that shakes out......and thats not the only thing they disagree on.....like who pickedup Haleigh the day she went missinng.......I would never throw my momma under a bus

I also think that "down" to her brothers meant downhill to tyler street--jmo. It could also be that after his threats to kill the kidnapper, he was afraid LE might ask for his guns temporarily and he may have hidden this one to keep it close. I can't see him protecting JO for any reason if he thought he was guilty. He may have denied the fight just so the guy would leave and go back home.

well you may be right that he just want JO to just go home, I think he was afraid of JO because of his affiliation to a national gang....and in my opinion Ron is not as tough a guy as he thinks or says he is

Please correct me if I'm wrong or missing another possible angle here but in order for your theory (above) to have occurred, Ronald would have had to take the gun over to 116 Tyler St. to hide it after he arrived home from work, was told that HaLeigh was missing and couldn't be found and they would have to call the police to report her missing or would have had to have someone else (Tommy ?) come and get the gun to take it and hide it before 911 was called. I don't buy it - something just doesn't add up. :waitasec:

I really believe that the motivation for RC's theatrics and his many stumbles over the past year, were attempts to appease TN. There's a real case-book relationship there for the analysts. I don't think RC hurt his child, but he stupidly crossed the wrong man. Killers, gang members, would not hesitate to hurt you through your family. It's more painful retribution that way. RC was drugging away the rest of his life, the coward waving his gun around, pretending to TN to be undercover, and now will be in prison a long time, where he might be finished off.

Actually that was not a theory--just a thought--my main thought being it was Tommy's house and not Timmy's the gun was at. Just trying to think of some reason he would deny the fight and hide the gun. Sorry for being unclear.

I was under the impression the 9mm Beretta was in Ron C's house when LE arrived...
Did cousin Jo supposedly steal that gun?JMO
