Major bus accident in central Stockholm at about 3,20 p.m. A large double-decker bus crashed into a bus stop on one of the busiest streets in Östermalm. Ambulance, police and rescue crews are still working (three hours after the accident happened). Several dead, and injured, and as the bus is still in place there could be even more dead.

Although the bus driver has been arrested for "gross negligence causing death", the police suspect that it's an accident and not an intentional act.
At the moment it's reported that there are three dead.

The driver has been arrested. Crazy. Was he drunk or was this intentional?

Most likely neither of those, most things points that it was a case of sudden illness that caused the driver to loose control of the bus. In Sweden it's not unusual that a person who has been involved in an accident, or other incident where people have died, is arrested immediately afterwards to give the police more recources for the investigation.

The latest information from the Swedish police at 21.50 (9.50 p.m.) is that the bus driver has been detained (which doesn't mean he's suspected of anything at the moment, the Swedish law requires that a person has to be detained if the police want to keep them after the preliminary interrogation). That gives the police more time for their investigation. The charges has been lessen, from "gross negligence" to now "negligence causing death", and there's nothing at the moment that indicates that it was intentional.

The bus driver has been released from custody on Saturday afternoon, and the suspicions have subsided:
