Polisen.se Cold Cases - Yasmin Sassi, missing in Huddinge 2007

Aftonbladet - The Yasmin-case is being put on the shelf

During the evening of 7th of Februrary 2007 Yasmin was going back and forth between the apartment she lived in with her sister and mother and the laundry room. (Info: most Swedish apartment buildings have an attached or separate building that has a laundromat for the tenants to use for free)

During the evening Yasmin had gone back and forth between the laundry room and the apartment, washing a couple of loads. Right before ten in the evening she got in the elevator with her younger sister, going to their apartment that was on the eleventh floor. Just as the doors to the elevator were closing, she jumped out and told her sister “I’ll be right back, I’m just gonna get the last load”. But she never did.

The last sign of her was a phone call to Morocco where her husband was living, which was around the time she exited the apartment building.

Yasmin’s mother is convinced Yasmin is still alive. To quote her from Aftonbladet’s article from 2012:
“My daughter is not dead. She is locked up somewhere. I know who did it but I can’t do anything by myself, and the police are not doing anything.” and “I know she will come back. She’s a part of me and I would feel it if something happened to her”.

Identification
Height: 162 cm
Clothing: At the time of her disappearance she wore a black Peak-coat, a brown Adidas top with orange text, darkblue sweatpants and black Nike’s.
She had her phone but no money with her.

@bimminglemur

What a sad case. Thanks for posting it.
I see there are quite a few articles in Swedish. I know it would take awhile for you to read through.

If you get a chance, did you see anything indicating a search took place around her home? Any quotes from police indicating they questioned neighbors or that there was ever a POI? Anything about phone pings/activity? Anything else about her husband? Other quotes from her family?

It's very sad, from what I learnt she didn't have any enemies and her family is still looking for her.

From what I could find there were searches in the area made by police and even dogs. They did interview family, friends and even patients at the hospital where Yasmin worked, but couldn't find anything. When it comes to the phone her mother has said that she tried calling Yasmin's phone when she didn't return from the laundry room. Twice it rang, but no answer, and the third time it didn't go through so either the phone died or had been turned off.

The latest from police is that they suspect she's been met with foul play, but her mother doesn't think so. In an article from 2011 her mother states that she is afraid someone had fallen in love with Yasmin and therefor kidnapped her. Her husband was going to be arriving from Morocco to Sweden the day after Yasmin disappeared. He had arrived and was living with the family in 2011 when the article was written.
