I agree, we arent talking about some celebrity divorce here!

it's much worse! It's a small little girl against a full grown adult mother.

I can't help it, but I'm a lawyer and it just comes naturally to say the prosecution and the defense, and it feels appropriate to me, just like saying plaintiff and defendant in a civil case. I actually prefer referring to Casey as the defendant, which is what she is now, and it cuts down on the confusion with CA/Cindy.

again...the defense and the media has been referring to the defense as the "dream team." many of us do not like that...since the term team KC

I voted disagree, but not because I disagree that the prosecution is going to obtain justice for Caylee, because they are/will, nor because I disagree that J Baez and crew are trying to exonerate Casey, because they are trying (without much success, I might add.)

I disagree because I just don't have too much appreciation for sports analogies in a situation as sad and tragic as the murder of a child, Caylee. I do understand a lot of folks do it to allow them a bit of lightness in a case that is extremely upsetting, but for me, it takes away from the gravity of what has happened to Caylee. When I need some lightness, I step away and take a break.

As one would expect from reading the above, I prefer the terms DEFENSE and PROSECUTION.

I'm not telling you not to dislike what the press does, and I agree The Dream Team tag is stupid, old and tired and not all that apt, IMO. I'm just saying what it suits me to do, since it's a poll.

i know what you mean and i say this with all due respect but the team thing makes it sound like this is a big game, which it is not.

we're all adults so why not just call them by their proper names?

that's all i'm going to say. :)

I agree - they are the prosecution and the defense.

Everyone has the right to use the term that they are comfortable with as the case heads to trial.

PLEASE let's not turn this thread into a debate of what is appropriate, right or wrong.

As you would know, it is a matter of respect. My BF is an attorney, my cousin is an attorney so I am use to hearing the references you hear. If JB wants to be disrespectful to the courts, let him. I choose not to engage in it.

I guess for me...it's just much more personal than that at this point. prosecution and defense does not symbolize what I feel is going on at this point considering what the defense is trying to do. My soul needs more than that. I can not understand, knowing what we know, how any reasonable, intelligent human being can stand in the side of KC. so I feel, for me, I need more... the defense is obviously doing more than just a job. they are on Team KC (IMO). I cannot stand for that.

As long as we all want what is best for Caylee it doesn't matter what we call the two sides.

So true! the distiction is that the defense WANTS WHAT IS BEST FOR KC not Caylee.

I prefer the DEFENSE and PROSECUTION that is the correct term, that is what they are. We are all adults and I believe we should act like adults. We should at this point show respect to WS, Caylee, and all others involved. Thanks to Tricia, JBean, Windchime. JMO

This would work if this was a regular run of the mill case...this is not. I for one will refer to "Team Caylee" and "Team KC." this is how the case has played out. everyone is taking sides. I'm on Caylee's side. for me this equates to team.

I must add...I'm not sure how "Team Caylee" or "Team KC" show disrespect...it is simply much more descriptive of our emotions in this case. JMO

I think this thread needs to go away before it gets ugly....

This thread could get ugly, for sure. Manatee, I don't think you mean it the way it appears but please don't presume to describe my emotions for me.

I will refer to them as the prosecution and defense. I wont stoop to their level. The legal terms are just fine with me. This isn't a game, and shouldn't be treated as such.

for sure did not mean to offend any one....just my very humble feelings, emotions and opinions on this case. forgive me if I have offended.
