I cant even beleve people considering letting the 14 yr old child give birth. Maybe because I have a 14 yr old. I just cant wrap my mind arround it.

I am pro choice , but it is an adult choice. One that to too huge for any 14 yr old girl.

I do think it is her parents right to make it for her. JMO.

I can't either. But I also cannot imagine signing the release for her to have an abortion. My guess is that this whole situation is a nightmare for everyone involved.

Hmmm, the skeptic in me says it's a big election year and asks what kind of pro-life legislation is being proposed in that area?

If this is a genuine circumstance, and not simply the creation of a poster child, I'll eat my hat. Just sayin'.

I initially thought the same thing, and it still is a huge possibility for me, but when I started Googling, I was pulling up articles on other families, similar situations, over and over again. 13, 14, 15 year old kids, that were fighting their families intimidations and orders, and I found at least 2 a year, usually in TX (oddly enough) for just about every year back through about 2000.

I think it's becoming more common, but I also think that this specific case is getting so much attention because it's an election year. Otherwise, it would be like the other cases that got a couple mentions in the local paper, and then quietly went out of the public eye.

Maybe not. But that again is up to her. At least we can be reasonably sure she is not going to be one of those girls/women that pretend they are not pregnant then kill the newborn.
