I think, if she is sociopathic, she is at this time trying to garner as much symapthy as possible... and she most likely is getting some. Refer to letters written to Casey Anthony in jail. JMHOO

IMO, that is one hallmark of sociopaths -- they want sympathy for their plight and they get it from unsuspecting people who have a heart, a conscience, feelings, and empathy, and who misperceive them as having those attributes.

this is happening so quickly and she is following the advice of an atty. Wouldn't you agree (to some extent) that she is holding on to her baby by not leaving the home the second all this stuff came down (divorce, RO, murder for hire, attempted abduction of the baby, stextual relationship with MC, etc... I say etc because I think I am missing something! She has been BUSY since kyron has gone missing but nothing related to FINDING HIM).

Anything seems possible, yes. Based on how I perceive the outward expression of her sociopathy (is that a word?), I think she was very invested in appearing to be the perfect mother, particularly to her bio child. So I *guessed* that custody (read "control") of baby, would be pretty high on her priority list. If she is not going after custody on the advise of her attorney, AND my guess about her nature is correct, I think it is very significant.

Personally, I think her staying in the house is more about not really sensing there's anything that wrong in her world. And maybe also about control over KH and her own comfort level. jmoo. I think you're scenario is possible, too. I just guessing and bringing a lot of my own personal experiences to it, as well. And, of course, they may or may not apply here.

Raises hand!!!!!!! Where do I sign up for these logic lessons? Seems mine has taken a leave of absence since this case started.

http://www.philosophy.uncc.edu/mleldrid/logic/lessons.html

I took a logic class in undergraduate school, because I thought it would be an easy A, and it was the hardest A I ever earned in my life. I glanced at this, and it seems okay, for a beginning.

You can Google "logical fallacies" or "logical reasoning" for a hopefully more user-friendly initiation to the subject.

Here's another site, but I must warn you that I haven't time to really hunt for a great one:

logic is not easy! I was a victim of this in college as well RC! And btw, I still respect what you have to say as a professional! experience don't lie.

eta: logic is the hardest subject I have ever studied!: hands down... A if not B if not A but C.

No! Don't take what I say with any more seriousness than you would anyone else here. We are all interested in crimes, victims and perps, the law and how it is applied, the psychology of the criminal mind, and so forth. Many, if not most, of us have educated ourselves on these matters as they come up in the cases we are interested in.

I have not been vetted because I am here as a participant only, not as a retired attorney. Sometimes I say things that concern the law, but I always check it out first with a practicing attorney, just in case.

The only reason I outed myself here was to state that the majority of defense attorneys are not liars and unethical in their practice of law.
come on.. get vetted!

exactly.. because they are missing them and try to mimic them to seem normal. Thanks for this RC

True enough. But sociopaths are notorious for using their children for their own purposes, e.g., to garner sympathy and/or convey the *mother of the year* portrait that's been posted about before. She can't very well do that if she doesn't HAVE the baby.

That gig may be up, for now. If she did this crime, and she is not arrested for it, she will be able to convince an unsuspecting man of her innocence and acquire another husband and house, and the lifestyle she wants.

If she did this crime, then I think she is a sociopath, which IMO is different from having a personality disorder, even though antisocial personality disorder comes close (does not clearly state lack of a conscience or inability to love, for instance).

The picture of her life prior to Kyron going missing does not match that of someone who would get rid of a child. No doubt, she fooled the vast majority of the people in her life, which is not unusual for a sociopath. There may be a few, and I think DY is one of them, who in hindsight at least, are not fooled.

If she did not do this crime, then the picture matches and I will no longer think she is a sociopath.

but I play one on TV, lol.

The subject of the thread title is the statement by Houze that TH is being threatened...not whether or not she is a sociopath. You-all might want to review your posts to make sure that they are on topic and meet TOS before the mods get here. :twocents:

There is a process in place for verifying professional posters here at WS-just email [email protected]

This is the email for Tricia Griffiths, the owner of WS. Thank you for posting with us and helping us sort out this complicated, heartrending case!!

So is she keep getting the three same death threats, or are there three people routinely threatening her with death?

I'm sorry, maybe I'm wrong for this, but it makes me giggle that she's only received three death threats, if that's true. Not saying they couldn't be scary, but only three? With the wackjobs out there, and the venom, she's only gotten three?

Something is just weird and kind of humorous about that (not the death threats themselves, just the number), unless he was wrong and she's getting way more than three, or there are three wackjobs have that have devoted their lives to threatening her.

There are ways to evaluate threats. A threat that is vague and nonspecific is rated as less credible than one that has specific and credible details in it.

Purely as examples: if Mrs Smith, that school board firebrand, receives a nasty anonymous letter snailmail, that's a little more credible than a threat in a post to a public website because the snailmail writer took the trouble to actually look up the address and mail it.

If Mrs Smith receives a threat via email with a telephoto picture of her that was not taken by a media source, that has higher credibility because it suggests that the writer was in actual visual contact.

My guess is that Mr Houze was saying that there have been three threats that rose to a level of credibility that causes real concern. Not that there haven't been a plethora of other threats that just do not seem credible.

Houze is right-it has morphed into a witch hunt. So, if TH would like to be removed from the firestorm, she should make sure that she takes the appropriate steps to clear herself from this investigation. JMO.

TMH lives in a nation whose founders quite clearly did not believe that the end justifies the means. That pesky fifth amendment? Wasn't put into the constitution so that mafiosos could refuse to testify in court. It was originally put in there because torture was widely considered to be an appropriate means of investigation.

No matter what she is suspected of doing, that does not mean she has waived any of her rights as a US citizen.

To force someone to trade their rights for personal safety is a slippery slope that I hope the US never embarks upon. Nations that endorse that sort of thinking are called North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Albania.

We are the United States of America. Our founding fathers set the bar for acceptable behaviour much higher than that.

Well she'll be getting death threats from the state when this goes to trial, so she may as well get used to it now.

  • #193
Mocking the number, believing she deserves it, feeling that it should motivate her to move out........all of those statements justifies someone threatening her life.

I remain gobsmacked at the justification of death threats if it results in any action by Terri which satisfies the public's belief that she should do this or that.

Saying thanks was just not enough, debs.

The constitution clearly implies that the end does not justify the means when it prohibits forced self incrimination.

The constitution should be the minimum standard of acceptable behaviour and not be treated as some ideal which is routinely failed.

3 death threats...sheesh...let's move on to more important matters! Where's the girl gonna be living? Oh my, sounds like not too many of her supporters out there are willing to share their digs with her now...wonder why?

Well, I hope the judge doesn't give her till Monday and forces her out today and lets her fend for herself like she did for Kyron.

I'd like to see KH "wave" to her as she walks down the driveway...

I would be willing to let her share my house. Unfortunately, I doubt she wants to make a move of 2000+ miles and I doubt the Oregon authorities really want that either.

While I have suspicions about what happened to Kyron, I have no idea whether those suppositions are true or not. Until I receive adequate proof, I would treat her as an innocent person.
