Has the location of the discovery of the abandoned Mercedes SUV ever been reported/disclosed by LE? I can't find it anywhere. I want to see how close it is between the boat and the shootout locations:

The map without Gerry's...we just need to place the abandoned Mercedes.

I've only read that it was abandoned "a short distance away" from the shootout. Given that his hiding place (the boat) was only about 400 yards away from that, it seems everything happened within a relatively tight radius.

DT is currently at the "Federal Medical Center at Devens, a federal prison about 40 miles west of where he allegedly planted the bombs that killed three and injured hundreds, at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The prison is for men requiring specialized or long-term medical or mental-health care."

My guess is he'll be moved to another, regular prison facility when he fully recovers.

Hi, thanks for your reply. It was actually FMC Devens' online info. page that I used for the search, via the 'Inmate Locator" function. I don't know if the search feeds back results from a specific location only or from a central database, but I've got the same response for 3 attempts now.

3) There is an image available online of a shredded black backpack which I have read was released by the FBI and is purportedly one of the bags which contained a bomb. If this is the case, it doesn't appear to me to be either TT's or DT's bag. It certainly isn't DT's because his was a mostly lightish grey or beige bag with some black sections. Looking at the image, at the top rear of the shredded bag you can see what appears to be part of the shoulder straps. They have a grey stripe down them. Looking at available CCTV footage, TT's bag does not appear to have any strips on the shoulder straps. The stripped straps do however appear to be very similar to the bag held on the forearm of a man in a blue jacket/fleece who can be seen in one of the other available images from that day. It's not either of the two young men who were initially suspected and then cleared (one of whom had a blue top also if I recall).

As yet I am not aware if the black shredded bag has been officially confirmed to have contained one of the bombs, but if it did it doesn't look as though it was DT's or TT's bag.

This continues to bother me. The shredded backpack clearly has two things that TT's backpack did not. The first is a white rectangular tab similar to the one the Craft security people standing nearby had on their backpacks. Second, the straps also appear to have a stripe, possibly beige, running down them. TT's backpack did not have that stripe. Now, it could be that what appears to be a stripe is actually strap lining exposed...but that bold white rectangular tab cannot be explained away. It's simply not there on TT's backpack--that I can see, anyway.

Some of the clearest backpack photos I've seen, incidentally, are here:

*Warning: do not scroll all the way down if you are adverse to gruesome death photo of TT.

If it is true about a Saudi wanting in 2012 then the FBI flag on him from 2011 should have been reopened. 2 different countries warning you about the same person, then there's something there and you need to look into it again regardless of whether you found something or not the first time!

And we don't know who looked at what. It is not possible for our govt to assign a 1 on 1 watch on a potential terrorist. Maybe they did look and saw nothing.

Interesting. I will say this, I've tried the inmate locator search at other times without always having 100% success. Can't really tell you why it's not working, though.

The only problem with the bombs from the marathon is that thousands of people were there, and, could have gotten any kind or amount of DNA on the parts, and, could have touched them. They may not even remember having touched them in a panic and shock, or may not have known what they were when they touched them. Doubt I'd remember touching any debris, just the horror and shock.

I believe it is possible to determine if the fingerprint was pre or post explosion based upon residue and distortion. So if they are actively looking into it, that tells me they have determined the fingerprint or DNA was on the cooker prior to the explosion.

Spruce and Lincoln. Laurel appears to become Spruce.
