So, where exactly was Tsarnaev living, in the dorm, with KRT and daughter in Cambridge apartment, or in each of the above? Hopefully KRT will be open and honest with the FEDS, because this stuff is not matching up!

The three suspects were not asked to remove incriminating evidence by DT. They took it upon themselves because they saw the photos circulated and decided to get rid of the empty fireworks and laptop because their friend was "in trouble." Investigators were on to them because of their electronic communication with DT during the manhunt. Fox

One of the newscasts said Phillipos was Ethiopian, had been in the USA ten years, and was from Cambridge MA.

There was a female interviewed Saturday when the two students were first interviewed. CNN reported there was a female living at their residence who reportedly was DT's girlfriend. Whether it's the same female or not, no females are under arrest or detained.

Thank you! That's what I heard, but I couldn't find it when I needed to confirm it. I wasn't aware of any girlfriend before. Had anyone heard of her before today?

Kadyrbayev told investigators he decided to take Tsarnaev’s laptop as well because he did not want Tsarnaev’s roommate, who was there when the trio stopped by, to think he was stealing or behaving suspiciously by just taking the backpack, the affidavit said. It wasn’t immediately clear from the affidavit what happened to the laptop computer.

In light of today's complaint, it offers some interesting background, I suppose.

According to the complaint, it was Diaz Kadyrbayhev who placed a backpack and fireworks in a large black trash bag and threw it into a dumpster near their Carriage Drive apartment.

I don't understand the reasoning behind the bolded bit. How would taking DT's laptop while he was not home look less theft-like than taking a backpack?

So to me the exploded backpack looks like we're seeing a lot of inside material (makes sense as it exploded) -you can see on the strap sticking off to the left that the "stripe" is lining - the black material on either side of it is rough-edged, like the part that's glued around the outside when the strap is put together.

I'm looking around 0:39 where you get a clear shot of TT's backpack, and you can see a perpendicular stripe on the shoulder strap, near where it connects to the backpack part. I think that's the stripe you can see under the L in atlanta in that one image.

Yes, it does appear to show a lot of inside exploded material (looks like fiberfill). Just don't see the stripe, still, on TT's backpack strap. DT's has a stripe on the straps--but in reverse; it's dark on light.
