It's real life. Not a movie. Police/FBI can't always control the situation. They probably didn't have enough info to arrest this guy. And based on this guy's previous behavior, I don't find it surprising if he tried to attack an FBI agent.

"Todashev came to America from Russia several years ago to study on a J-1 visa, a program designed to promote cultural exchange by granting foreigners temporary permission to study or work in the United States, said law enforcement *officials with direct knowledge of the information.

In 2008, the US government granted Todashev asylum, a protection granted to foreigners with a credible fear for their safety in their homelands *because of religious, political, or other specific forms of persecution.

The dates Todashev was living in the Boston area were not *entirely clear Tuesday. He was listed as living on Harding Street in Cambridge in a 2010 Boston police report, when he was arrested following an altercation after a traffic accident on Tremont Street in downtown Boston.

He was cited twice for traffic incidents in Massachusetts in 2009 and once each in 2010 and 2011.

Todashev was issued a Florida driver’s license in March 2012, listing his address as 4502 Saint Georgas Court in Kissimmee."

What was his "credible" fear for his safety when he was granted asylum? Father claims he went to US and decided to stay because he "liked it." An enemy of my enemy is my friend? Seems to me to be the reason US was so freely giving out asylums to those visting from regions that had conflicts with Russia.

IT's reported confession would not have been corroborated or verified as a valid confession by investigators that quickly. IT was questioned (interrogated) for 8 hours prior to the fatal shooting (not in custody. The news of his death and alleged confession to the triple homicide were released simultaneously. It is slightly misleading, as his confession would definitely not have been corroborated dependently and independently at this stage. He could of made incriminating statements, which fall short of a confession. There is little we know about what went on and his exact involvement he was not under arrest or charged for those murders. In saying all this, any citizen should be well aware if they threaten or attempt to harm any member of law enforcement they must accept the possibility they could be shot and killed. I have no issue with LE protecting themselves in the manner they deem appropriate. It would have been in his best interest to request legal counsel at the moment where he became highly agitated, maybe he did, we don't know what happened in that apartment. 8 hours is a long time. IMO

Sounds like the globe was finally able to reach the girlfriend. Although they aren't naming her here, sounds like the same woman. I am amazed police never even questioned Tsarnaev (based on what has been reported, Tsarnaev was never on their radar). What kind of investigation was it? Maybe because the victims weren't model citizens police didn't bother to investigate so much?

Mess's girlfriend said she knew with certainty that he kept a handgun in the apartment. Another friend said earlier this week that Mess had been badly beaten by his marijuana supplier years earlier when he was short on his payment and then familiarized himself with firearms.

Mess and his girlfriend shared the apartment with Weissman, who was struggling financially after Boston police had seized a large amount of cash and drugs in a raid on his Roslindale apartment.

Here's a 2001 article on FBI blunders. It doesn't include the Yosemite murders of three women, another murdered later because the FBI didn't get it right. And another latter FBI misstep was the anthrax case. I have no problem questioning the FBI in this (IT being shot) case in 2013.

FBI only interviewed one taxi company in the nearby town of Sonora, there were two cab companies. Second taxi company had picked up Cary Stayner, the real killer, not far from where the victims' car was left. Cary had on a cap he always wore and talked about Bigfoot during his ride back to Yosemite, two things which would have identified him to coworkers and others. Instead the FBI said they had the killerS, even though they had no evidence against any of them and implied that Yosemite was safe for tourists.

Except there's video footage, still shots, multiple eye witness accounts and a background and family connection that makes sense. We aren't relying on the media stories for all critical pieces of information. There aren't holes in the story aside from motivation, and even that is probably along the lines of other, similar terrorist attacks by first generation immigrants. I don't blindly believe news stories, but I believe logic, facts, my own eyes and multiple congruent accounts. Also, the friends of his who were arrested aren't even proclaiming his innocence, even though that would have helped their own case immensely if they believed he was innocent of the terror attacks - they all admitted (to their detriment) that they knew he was guilty.

As far as the shooting in Florida, nothing makes sense.

The guy punched a guy's teeth out in an argument over a parking space! He tried to push or hit a woman over a traffic incident! So how was a room full of FBI agents and police not prepared for a discussion about terrorism and murder to spark his very clear pattern of violence? It makes no sense to me.

Why were they not recording this, if they suspected he was going to give them information about a domestic terror attack? They weren't taping this? They didn't want this to happen in a police station or interrogation room where this violent offender could be recorded, restrained and kept safe from self harm or suicide by cop?

The second he admitted to taking part in a violent drug murder and throat-slashing, he wasn't detained, restrained, recorded, or taken in for further questioning? Let's just sit in the kitchen and calmly talk about your violent crimes? And how does one person get the drop on multiple armed men, to the point where he must be shot dead to protect them?

Again, I'm not sure if this is a media issue warping the story, or if this was a completely bungled investigation. I truly hope it's the former and a story that makes more sense will be revealed.

For sure, and it certainly isn't like they were chatting with someone who hijacked a kitttles! Give me a break the whole thing , sorry to say , a set up. Not that he might not have had involvment , but it certainly IMO does not seem as if they went to any great lengths not to kill him.

I remember back right after the bombings occurred there was a picture posted of a man on top of a building and many people were wondering why that was or if they were involved. I talked to one of the physicians that helped at the scene today and they said that before the race even started they noticed a National Guard soldier on top of a building monitoring the crowd for any danger. Just thought I'd post that in case any one else was wondering about it.

But see, I would hope to see people on roofs with such a big event. And beleive it or not I am not a conspiracy person.


BUT, (!) the same thing, a training exercise, was in play ? on 9-11 with the F-15s

The facts of what happened in the apartment with the various government officials representing different branches, the FBI, and one suspect should be an easy story to tell. A+B+C happened, the suspect did such and such threatening the agents life, and officer ADG shot him. All people in the room are there for one purpose, one goal, and surely someone was wired! They should have seen the whole scene, heard the whole scene, been prepared and ready for what the perp "might" try next.

However, less than 48 hours later, the story keeps drastically changing as to it is not known what object the suspect had or how he obtained it, who shot him or how many times he was shot. A public hearing may need to be held to discover these facts. This meeting occurred behind closed doors, in an apt., but maybe the public can help?

See where a COVERUP is??!! Everything that was originaly reported, is being backtracked and withdrawn with great speed. Something went terribly wrong in that room, the information that got out does not fit with the story that NEEDS to be told. Coverup of what? That is the 50 million dollar question! All the retracking on this story is catching too many eyes. Only time will tell. . .:banghead:

I think the ex wives interview was very telling. Same story reported by his friend. That they were investigating "Boston" and I think they sprung triple on him, he was already being haunted for weeks now , is on edge.
BUT the real telling part is that suppossedly they said this was going to be our last interview.

In a case this complicated , how could agents know that all the information would obtained that night, unless they planned a lets call "wrap".

I think a lawyer might have a field day with an interview, of a non arrested person that was heading into its 9th hour kind of abusive.

His statement about not wanting to look guilty by not getting attorney rings authentic.

THe friend seemed just devasted and angry . Lets NOT be surprised if in a year we dont here how he hates AMerica also
