*This thread is closed for review*

We have breaking news and we're having to close this thread to clean up the mess.

First, the missing person ST is off limits. We don't want to see posts apologizing for naming him or explanations of any sort. Discussing him keeps putting his name out there, so please stop the discussion now!

Tensions are running extremely high as a manunt is currently underway. Racist posts, comments or speculation about any race will be removed and the member will be placed on time out.

We'll try to reopen this thread as soon as possible.

Thank you.

About what wounds the dead suspect had

Matthew Keys ‏@TheMatthewKeys 1h

Beth Israel Hospital: Suspect was in cardiac arrest upon arrival to the hospital - http://bit.ly/11jwbKG

Beth Israel Hospital: Suspect One had multiple gunshot wounds, too many to count - http://bit.ly/11jwbKG

Police: First suspect may have had explosive that detonated when he was taken into custody - http://bit.ly/11jwbKG

He got off way too easy, IMO. I hope they get the other one alive. I seriously doubt it, though. :banghead:

This whole situation is just crazy. Our world is crazy. How did this happen and why? I don't understand! As the world becomes more sophisticated you have to worry for future acts and the potential catasrophy they will cause. Ugh. Ugh. UGH. I hope this brother is caught alive, so we can have some answers. I don't think he will be though.

I really, really hope he is taken alive, so we can get a fuller picture of WHY.

This is insane, I don't think i've even seen anything like this. One person is basically holding a major US city hostage.

SPECULATION...

If Suspect 1 self detonated, that may be part of the plan to take as many first responders as possible with them.

Suspect 2 is not a ghost-there must have been a route of travel from the confrontation. I am sure LE is worried about a hostage situation.

Number one priority is safety in Watertown, but it may take hours. Will update later, but safety of Watertown neighborhoods first.

Per State Police

Add entire city of Boston to those advised to stay home today. Inside, doors locked.

This is a huge, huge chunk of the population.

There have always been predators, terrorists, and psychopaths. Its just now they can hurt more people. There are still far more good than bad, though.

I think LE thinks they basically have a potential suicide bomber (strapped to him) loose on the city.

I may have missed something. :blushing: Is it known what this comment/follow-up is in response to?

This happens with somewhat frequency outside this country. Sometimes it is amazing how sheltered Americans are.

I am awestruck how fast this reaction all went into place. I mean, it is an incredibly coordinated response-I dont know if he is going to give himself up, but he is going to have a very hard time hiding unless he takes folks hostage ala dorner.

Why did they rob the store?

From what I've read, they carjacked a car near MIT. That's how they ended up in Watertown, I think. The other suspected (white hat guy) is still at large.

(You may have read this by now...)

Thank you! I hadn't read anything to put it together yet, since events are still happening and just trying to keep up with the new stuff on TV.

Unbelievable. :(
