I wonder why, if they planted explosives and killed a police officer, they wouldn't kill the people at the convenience store and the man in the car that they carjacked??

I know! I don't understand it either.

They place a bomb near children with a smile on their face. They look a man RIGHT in the eyes, then drop a bomb backpack at his feet, subsequently taking his legs from him. They kill a police officer who wasn't even chasing them. And then let a whole bunch of direct witnesses who saw their faces and talked to them go free?

Friends from college said he was a "pot head" and never talked about politics. Unclear about his major - some said engineering, some said medical, some said economics. No political agenda. Now searching his dorm room. Said he was a bad driver.

Two students saw him after the bombing on campus the next day and said he was acting normally.

LE did this and they notified FBI to come to the scene which took a little bit of time for them arrive. LE put him naked in a van naked until FBI arrived to interview him. Not nice but protocol

I would have a complaint of police misconduct on their desks immediately and a lawyer on hand by the next day. There was no reason to keep him naked for an hour. He could have been given his clothes back once they knew he had no explosives on him. This poor guy was a VICTIM. There are ways to do a hard job without causing victims an hour of further mental anguish. Yes he needed to be questioned yes they checked for explosives on him, the hour and parading him in front of the media naked was over the top imo. Stripping suspects naked for an hour in public is not protocol in any other situation including fort hood etc. that i have heard.

"A bomb squad has arrived on Norfolk Street between Cambridge and Webster streets in Cambridge near Inman Square, where the Marathon bombing suspects reportedly lived. State Police and the FBI had blocked off the area earlier this morning, and police escorted residents from their homes and scoured the area around the suspects’ apartment.

Around 10 a.m., officials pushed media and residents back away from the scene down to Tremont Street, a block away. The intense focus continued into mid-morning and police appeared to be getting reinforcements from the military. Shortly after 10:30 a.m., a small convoy of military vehicles, apparently from the Massachusetts National Guard, streamed into the neighborhood, with soldiers dressed in full combat gear."

Maybe because killing people at a distance with a bomb is very different from killing people up close and personal? Maybe they could kid themselves they were doing something righteous if they didn't have to see the results, or hear someone begging for their life?

I have conflicting feelings about this. Yes, he will because he is that arrogant and won't want to be taken alive. No, he won't because he is that arrogant and will make them take him down, dead or alive. LOL!!

I do know one thing...this guy has an ego that just won't quit!!!

The look on his face, head held as high as can be...walking away from dropping the bomb in that picture!

I'm actually feeling really proud of the enormous response and coordination we've had from LE and FBI.

YES!!! They are the heroes here... They risk their lives every day and they DO work hard! And the many hospital staff and first responders on the scene of the bombings who didnt flinch and saved people's lives unsure if additional bombs were to go off.

True...the MIT officer was killed. But, and I fully admit I was playing catch up when I wasn't aware things were happening live and I am exhausted...didn't I read something about him possibly being shot with his own gun?
