Just watched the LE (CBS Boston Livestream) explain how they had found blood behind a house at some point today How would one of the dogs not picked up the trail? He was just a block out of the perimeter.

Depends on where they had the canines and whether or not they "listened" I guess.

They were sooooo close. That is going to make them crazy. Lifting the shelter at home was the perfect move though.

The mother-in-law of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect killed during a gun battle with police says her family is sickened by the horror inflicted by the deadly attack.

Judith Russell, whose daughter Katherine was married to Tamerlan Tsarnaev, an ethnic Chechen who came to the US from Russia, read a statement from inside her home in Rhode Island through a partially open doorway.
"Our daughter has lost her husband today, the father of her child. We cannot begin to comprehend how this horrible tragedy occurred," Russell said. "In the aftermath of the Patriots' Day horror, we know that we never really knew Tamerlan Tsarnaev."

Yes, a photo of the planted backpack is available. Video has not been released. We have been asked not to post the photo out of respect for the family because little Martin Richard is in it.

The still shot has been released, though, with Martin, the suspect, and the backpack all circled. It's out there in cyberspace, though I wouldn't want to post it.

Why do the pundits keep talking about how they can't understand how brothers who 'spent most of their lives in the US' would do such a thing?

Suspect #2 came over when he was 20, 6 years ago.

Suspect #1 came over at age 8, 11 years ago--barely more than half his life.

How quickly Timothy McVeigh is forgotten. He was an American, born in the U.S., and served in the military.

What he did is still more astonishing than these two.

And on yet another anniversary of THAT horrific tragedy, my prayers for all the survivors...as well as for those in Boston.

Like everyone else, I'm on information overload right now and trying to decipher everything so that I can actually sleep tonight!
Has it been clarified how, when, from where and with what he was making the posts online about wanting revenge for his brother's death? If all of this happened within a mile of last night's shooting, and we know that he was injured and hiding behind a house, in a boat, etc. how did he make those posts?

I agree, we will never be able to get inside of his head, of course, but we can observe his actions and make an educated assumption. IMO he was obviously very calculated and had control over his emotions. If he truly was stress-free, then he is probably a psychopath, which could account for his intelligence, well mannered presentation, and personality.

I can recommend a very good person to evaluate him.. Dr. DeMarte from the Jodi arias trial this week! ;)

Suspect is experiencing blood loss!

No, no, the police never shot at the boat.

We know stuff from downstairs which we cannot bring up here. But I know what you are saying.

but commissioner in Boston said that there were shots fired. So whatever.

I will leave it at that.

Did he post today?

I thought he only posted from the 16th to the 18th?

I find it odd that so far, he only had an account on the Russian FB. You would think that since he had American friends, part of American culture, living in America, he would have a regular FB too.

I will try to find what I'm referring to. It was earlier today and had to be on this thread since it's all that I've been following. He was angry about his brother being killed.

Watching CBS Evening News from earlier tonight. They are reporting that older brother was interviewed by FBI in 2011 because of his extremist ties and was determined to be no threat. Was not under surveillance after that.

Anybody know who the other 3 people are they arrested earlier this evening?

I am worried that he will survive, but will be in a coma or in some very serious condition where he can't communicate or go to jail.

Yes, Arias seems to have a Facticious disorder (faking a disorder). However, Dzhokhar is the opposite, he has done his best to seem normal (never talked politics, never angry, etc). This is rather unusual, normal people have their downfalls and vent about their anger or problems.

The one who was killed earlier came over at age 16 or 17. There was an article from January 2004 when he was 17 when he said he had been here for 6 months.

Thanks--would love to see a link. (I was just going on something I remember jjenny posted upthread.)
