Wonder what really happened to cancel the father's trip to the US? From the beginning articles, it was stated he returned to Russia due to health, brain cancer. It just seems odd that as outspoken as ZT has been, all of a sudden she is quiet and AT is not coming to claim body. Katherine Russell can authorize the release - even the uncle could claim it if she did. Are we now going to hear there's a family fight over TT's remains? Or, is there a backstory we haven't heard yet?! This is not adding up IMO!
IMO their main intention was to visit DT and they shelved their travel plans after being told in no uncertain terms that a visit would not be allowed

It was also said that AT's trip to the homeland in May 2012 was to ensure that TT came back, so not sure how that factors into the brain cancer scenario.

They should stay where they are.
I don't want them running around free in the US.

What a tangled web we weave...

Russia caught bomb suspect on wiretap

WASHINGTON (AP) — Russian authorities secretly recorded a telephone conversation in 2011 in which one of the Boston bombing suspects vaguely discussed jihad with his mother, officials said Saturday, days after the U.S. government finally received details about the call.

In another conversation, the mother of now-dead bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was recorded talking to someone in southern Russia who is under FBI investigation in an unrelated case, officials said.
The conversations are significant because, had they been revealed earlier, they might have been enough evidence for the FBI to initiate a more thorough investigation of the Tsarnaev family.

As it was, Russian authorities told the FBI only that they had concerns that Tamerlan and his mother were religious extremists. With no additional information, the FBI conducted a limited inquiry and closed the case in June 2011.

FWIW, Radaris shows MA also has a very anglicized aka.

I found it interesting that the article on Misha indicated he didn't wish to discuss his relationship with the Tsarnaev family. What's up with that?

British tabloid Sun gets an interview with TT's ex-girlfriend

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4906994/my-boyfriend-the-bomber.html

And she was heartbroken when she learned he was secretly seeing another girl. Her rival was Katherine Russell, a student who was to become Tamerlan’s wife after converting to Islam. Crafty Tamerlan was soon playing the two women off against one another.

Nadine said: “He once made me learn a verse of an Islamic prayer and if I got it wrong he’d say, ‘Well Katherine can do it’.”

LOL ... I wonder if they consider that other unrelated case just might be related now. Ya think?.

I think Anzor may have cancelled his plans for the above reason.

I think Zubeidat likely has other compelling reasons for not returning to the US:

1. She was arrested & charged with felony larceny in 2012, and now there's a bench warrant for failure to appear.

2. She discovered that her name was added to the TIDE list as a potential terrorist.

I've not heard that anyone called in after the photos were released, and if they had responded at that moment, I would think that LE would have been to the Cambridge apt on Thursday night.

Here is another story of people calling in the tip.
I am positive that multiple tips were called in soon after photos were shown.

"But when C. and a couple of his friends saw photographs of the Tsarnaev brothers on television Thursday night, they called the F.B.I. tip line."

http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2013/04/29/130429ta_talk_remnick

Students at UMassD called the tip line. A few of my students recognized DT, but because of his laid back nature they couldn't quite believe that it was actually him --- however, this led to them calling the tip line to say that they recognized the guy in the images, but that they thought LE was mistaken that he had something to do with the bombings. However other students called in to say, "it looks like this guy DT in my dorm/class/soccer team" without any disclaimers.

So yes, there were several calls that I know of, and I'm sure I don't know more than a small fraction of it.

IMO, we are going to find out that "mom" has been a lets say VERY active particpant in terror activities. IMo, the first several days her histronic outburst were , IMO,solely to get out her message -America is evil.

I think she was hoping that while fever was high, she was trying to intice other terrorist ativiities here or anywhere with democratic belief systems.

A performance / call to arms if you will.

I certainly do not for sure if this correct, but it would seem medically beneficial to have treatment here no?

Its not , IMO, about them being here in the terms of running around here, but the reality of getting any authentic info seems doubtful. We got enough going on here (!) without having to spend millions keep them all safe while they are here!

Have em send us a letter, just make sure it does not need to be delivered on a Sat ha!

I am not sure why the phone tap has been, in the media, such a big deal. There is nothing incongruent here - they told us they have concerns about the family!

Re: the father's "illness"

When did we hear cancer? brain cancer?

Now he is saying high blood pressure. Yes, I know you can have both, but it seems strange to change your illness midstream. Seriosusly, nobody forgets if they have brain cancer. From a family member, I know how devastating it can be, not something yo don't mention, when listing your illnesses, KWIM?

Ahhhhh! Very interesting theory! I think you are on to something.

Obviously the story about high blood pressure is just an excuse.

Ah, the New Yorker. Remnick nails it right here. IMO The "Brothers Tsarnaev", indeed.

http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2013/04/29/130429ta_talk_remnick

It boggles my mind, to read that... why on earth did they stay here? "I want out" - well, he chose to become a citizen of a free country, and he was welcome and able to leave at any time. He could easily have gone to live with his parents. Why would he phrase it as if he were somehow being kept in the US against his will?

TT: "I don't have American friends. I don't understand them." Again a grown man, I don't buy that his Daddy 'forced' him to live here against his will (when the dad himself had moved back to his homeland).

Clearly DT and TT wanted to live in the US, and also wanted to pretend that they were somehow victims being forced to live here against their will. They created an entire melodramatic narrative in which they yearned for their homeland, but were cruelly denied it. All the while applying for free money and citizenship?
