Terry Hobbs & Pam Hicks on Opperman Report

So much for the welcome. I thought some were rather rude to him.

This is the FIRST time we've ever had someone who was actually connected to this case come here.

I wasn't rude to him, but I thought it was pretty rude of him to accuse me of attempting to trick him somehow when I asked him a question, even though I let him know I had no hidden motives, but rather curiosity about his insight as a result of his profession.

I wasn't rude to him either.

But he was rude to me. I don't care who he is - this sort of comment is uncalled for:

Oh brother. No confession would satisfy you.

I don't have to put up with that.

I was probably a little harsh in my comment, apologies. I just cannot logically accept thatall top members of support and awareness funds would help the three whilst somehow knowing they were guilty. Surely I'm not that naive.

Your argument isn't actually logical, but rather a fallacy commonly known as argument from incredulity. Granted I share your incredulity on this particular matter, but proclaiming disbelief doesn't make a logical argument.

Fair enough. I'm sure you can appreciate that when such absolutes such as "all" "everyone" etc are used they will raise some suspicions.

I appreciate the plug for the show. Would have liked to have seen him/her engage in some of the other threads but since this is a thread about the show, I guess I'll take the plug.

Uh, given that he would have been under emotional distress, had no attorney figure present, may not have had the implications of what he was saying, was highly gullible, than it wouldn't have had to have been interrogation. It would have been childs play to manipulate him into confessing. And given that the attorneys hard been left out when the prosecution made deals with miskelley (theres a reason clients want their attorneys to shut the **** up, and are reluctant to let them talk. they don't get the implications of what they are saying, and if miskelley had been convinced that "confessing" would be in his interests he'd have done it.

I am lost. I must have missed where, when or how he featured in the case. I just thought he was a person with a programme slot on an internet radio station and an interest in true crime. Is he actually a resident of Arkansas and how was he involved in the case? Or did he used to live in Arkansas once? Who did he work for and what did he have to do when he was connected to the case?

He is a famous PI and has interviewed people involved in this case. If you go back a couple of pages you can see his posts in case you have missed them.

We've never had anyone like that one here that I know of. Do you know of anyone like that? I consider him to be an insider. Don't you?

Ed Opperman Private Investigator This shows some of the cases he's worked on as well as having a radio show.

What he said in his earlier post was that he has been studying the case since the 90's and "offered to help the defense" before deciding the three were guilty. He didn't say that he -did- help. I don't doubt he was an insider on some of the other high profile cases he mentioned, but I don't see how he is an insider on the west memphis three case, aside from doing a few admittedly biased shows on the topic and being friends with Terry Hobbs. On his radio show, he couldn't remember the victims' names. Other people on this board have been studying the case as long, and i wouldn't be surprised if one of them had spoken with and befriended family members involved in the case as well.

Everyone has their own opinion, but this man has actually interviewed those involved in this case, so I consider him to be an insider. His only posts are on this very thread and can be seen a couple of pages back.

There are steps that can be taken on Websleuths to become a Verified Insider. Until that happens, I just consider him to be another poster with an opinion just like everyone else here. :twocents:

As far as I know, he has no official connection to this case. The best I can put together, it would be similar to Tricia's radio show here, but with that truth website spin. I suppose he has the advantage of having said that he has spoken to Hobbs directly so I give him that. But anyone with inside information as to the actual investigation either from LE's perspective or the defense's perspective? Not so much.

That is pretty much accurate. I don't doubt he's looked very closely at this case and I don't doubt he has strongly formed opinions, but so has kyle and so has CR and so many others here. I simply appreciate the plug for his show. Keep them all talking as far as I'm concerned.

Even if it is TH's hair .. It simply proves that the hair became attached to that shoelace which could have happened in the home where all boys played or could have been transferred between the boys. Did LE even identify which boy was tied with which shoelace?

The hair was found IN THE KNOT of the ligature. Not ON the shoelace, but bound IN it.
