From SM......

"Monkeys, I was on a 3 way call with Marlee & Erin Bridwell from TES. She emphatically told us that Tim & TES are NOT pulling out. Caylee is at the forefront of every TES volunteers heart and they have every intent of continuing their search for her.

Tim is coming home tonight and at the time of the call, Erin didn't have a date for the search but she assures us IT WILL CONTINUE.

I have never lied or misled any of you. Please quit stressing yourself over this search. It will happen. I promise! I have Erin's word on it."

Guess TM is not a GJ witness! I am surprised on that one! It does confirm that they will not be searching at this time.

No, it was a plea deal. it's a local case for me.
I was just interpreting the punishment differently...he had already been convicted of murder. In Casey's case it would save her from the DP. Reiser was expecting 25 to life. I don't think it was a DP case. Yes, he took 10 years off his sentence...and IIRC no one ever expected him to give up the body.

am I allowed to post what someone else said on another thread from this morning?

Gosh, I cannot imagine anyone celebrating when finding the remains of a missing person. Especially, if in their heart of hearts they thought the person may be alive.

I think you are mis-interperting the "type" of celebrations the Deputy is refering too. I certainly do not believe this was meant as a shouting guns blazing beer drinking yee-haw party time celebration. But more of a yes, omg we have found her and now she can be put to rest pleasant happiness type of celebration.

We shouldn't read anything into this kinda stuff. IMO it's childish crap and discredits the seriousness of this case. "Oh, look what I have, but I can't tell". Nonsense!

Whom is slated to testify is a very secret matter, unless they themselves leak it, then beforehand, it would not be a known factor or announced in any way. The witnesses are a secret...for their own protection.

I am confused....It has been all over the news that GA is going to have to testify - why was that released if the witnesses are to be secret?

Also, it would make sense if TM is here to testify to use the cover of searching. I think that something was found before that was connected and preliminary test results have been received and that is why it is going to the GJ.

If GJ comes back with an inditment, does anyone know how long it is before Casey would be arrested?

Yes!!!

Oh dear lord, I don't know how much more I can take. I also think if the search has been postponed it must be for good reason, but it's so frustrating! Why won't the doggone weather cooperate, ugh!

  • #171
...possibly...setting up one last offer of immunity/plea deal for life-vs.-pursuing-death-penalty after GJ indicts...adding a threat to release TES with a renewed sense of confidence a body will be found....high-stakes, all-or-nothing poker...would that make any sense @ all?
:waitasec:HMMMM verrryyy interesting thought you have there James!

You are correct. I just went and checked the news archives on his sentencing.

I don't get that TM is testifying before GJ either.... don't understand why that's a given. Maybe he will, but I wouldn't assume so!

Good question...I don't think it's as "secret' as everyone makes it out to be. It's not the first time I've heard of a GJ convening...or speculation on who may be called to appear. Their testimony along with all proceedings remain a secret if my memory serves me right.

Someone on SM called TES and was told TM is flying home tonight. If true he will not be a GJ witness.

1. Investigative subpoenas issued as part of an active criminal investigation or intelligence gathering operation by a criminal justice agency are exempt from the disclosure requirements of Ch. 119, F.S., prior to their becoming part of the case files maintained by the clerk of the court. Grand jury subpoenas, as part of the grand jury proceeding made secret by s. 905.24, F.S., also would not be subject to disclosure under Ch. 119, F.S.

2. Investigative subpoenas made part of a court file maintained by the clerk of court would be subject to public disclosure, unless closed by an order of the court or specifically exempted from public disclosure under s. 119.07(4), F.S.

From Florida Statutes.....

People called to testify tomorrow should not be a matter of public record. So....someone must have some good inside connections.

Apparently, GA is the only one in the family that has been subpoenaed to testify tomorrow. This surprises me.

  • #179
Why do I feel as if I'm in the middle of a shell game?

  • #180
So I"m confused ... are they going to search Wednesday, or is everything postponed until November? And WHY is it postponed???
