Texas A&M University has issued a campus wide emergency alert, armed man reported

According to the "code maroon alert," the man was seen on campus and officials are urging people to stay indoors.

He is described as being white, in 40's, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with light hair. He is wearing a lime green short sleeve shirt and jeans.

According to the alert, the man appeared to be holding a gun with a wooden handle.

He was last heading toward Sanders Corps Center.

The campus community is asked to resume activities but to remain cautious. Please be advised that the suspect has not been located and police are continuing to investigate the incident. If you see the suspect or have any information concerning the incident, please immediately call UPD at 979-845-2345.


We urge all members of the campus community to remain vigilant, be cautious, and report any suspecious acitvity immediately to your local law enforcement agency.
