Texas attorney general seeks to seize polygamist ranch

(CNN) -- The Texas Attorney General's Office said Wednesday that it has started legal proceedings to seize the 1,600-acre ranch where prosecutors say polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs and others sexually abused children.

Greg Abbott's office said the move marks the final chapter of a nearly five-year effort to pursue widespread criminal misconduct charges at the Yearning for Zion ranch near Eldorado, Texas....

What happened to the 400 children who were taken away from the compound? In a case of this scale where would you house everyone? It seems really disheartening to think they all of them would get shuffled around into a bunch of foster homes.

Most of them were returned. Some of the mothers left the compound with the kids. They're scattered all over the place.
