I work at Walmart online grocery puller {ogp} I am so absolutely stressed with the virus, medically i have so much going on my copd for starters and dealing with my colostomy at work right now i take my wipes and other things in the bathroom when i empty my bag or have a emergency issue.now i have to remember to clean the outside of my bag the wipes are in just in case that area was infected, after i close the bag i have the need to wipe my whole colostomy bag down which usually i don't and my immune system is not very good right now i had respiratory infection last week..and even on a stay home order EVERYBODY is at Walmart and honestly not using social distancing..
Oh gosh I'm so sorry demetra. Please be careful and stay safe. Your right about people not social distancing. Do they not read or watch any news? I just don't get it. I had to use the bathroom when I was at Target last week and what you described is exactly how I was; wiping the seat, my purse, the counter I put my purse on, washing my hands, pushing the door open with my arm/shoulder, wiping my cart down again, etc. When I get back in the car, I do it all over again. UGH I had a mammogram and two underarm ultrasounds three weeks ago, on 3 different days and I was just a mess, wiping down everything in sight. Luckily everything came back normal but I am 51, not in the best shape anymore, could definitely drop 15-20 lbs and use to smoke (smoked for 15 plus years). I hate this virus and hate being paranoid/freaked out about it all the time. It's not who I am. Stay safe demetra!

My county in Texas lists Covid-19 cases by DATE DIAGNOSED, SEX, AGE RANGE, LOCATION BY ZIP CODE, TRANSMISSION, STATUS OF RECOVERY AT HOME OR IN HOSPITAL. We have had complete recoveries, no deaths, most recovering at home, a couple in hospital.

My zip code with a population of 27,000 has four cases, one in hospital.

Hey Backstroke ... I'm Houston/North/The Woodlands. My husband is in construction/electrical so considered essential. He said for the most part traffic has been great. This morning 290 was like a ghost town!! It is Houston, so it's just hit or miss. A thank you to your Ex & UPS for the great job they do ... mucho appreciated!!

Walden in Lake Conroe here, hey neighbor. This is a great website to read daily if you haven’t already found it:

Good idea! I don't see why not. I did put it in Tricia's "need help" thread but I'll go add to the main one.
Thanks for the Texas thread! Nice to see some friendly “faces”!

My son-in-law is from Conroe originally !........moo
Ha! Such a small world, eh? I actually live in Montgomery, but most around here know the specific area of Walden, so I usually just say that. But it’s just a few miles from Conroe! It’s weird. When you drive over the bridge into town (it’s a peninsula) you are in Conroe for a few minutes and then back in Montgomery. Lol.

Is there any way you can get your hours changed to less busy hours? Night is a lot less crowded and people that order online don't care if it's pulled at 4pm or 4am.

This is a suggestion for anyone that can change their schedule or routine to be in contact with the least amount of people. (so not really OT)

Stay safe.
ps not from Texas - was just seeing what these are about. ;)

Nightmare in The Woodlands apartment complex:
Immediate shelter-in-place order issued at apartment complex in The Woodlands after 12 residents test positive for COVID-19

"THE WOODLANDS, Texas — An immediate shelter-in-place order was issued for an apartment complex in The Woodlands after a dozen residents tested positive for COVID-19.

No one will be allowed to enter or leave The Conservatory at Alden Bridge, which is an apartment complex for people who are 55 and older, until April 13.

Until 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, residents will be allowed to leave the facility if they want to stay at another place while in self-isolation. If they leave, the residents can not return until the order expires, whether it be on April 13 or a later date."

HHSC Temporarily Waives Renewal Requirements for Medicaid, SNAP Clients During COVID-19 Crisis | Texas Health and Human Services

"To ensure benefits continue, Texas requested and received federal approval to automatically extend benefits for recipients who were up for renewal. Renewing the SNAP and Medicaid applications automatically means that those who were up for a renewal do not have to call or complete their renewal to receive continuous coverage. SNAP and Medicaid benefits are extended until further notice, and Texas HHS will continue to provide updates to the public during the coming months.

Additionally, as authorized by section 2302 of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, Texas is also waiving interview requirements for households applying for SNAP. As part of that, households are not required to complete an interview before approval if identity has been verified and mandatory verification steps are completed.

Waiving interview requirements means people do not have to come into an office or call the agency about their application or renewal, and HHS can process applications as they are received and make eligibility determinations faster."

Houston area here, northeast Crosby area. This thread should work well to provide resources specific to the area.
I’m considered essential (Asphalt Chemist) and going to work every day in the lab with 4 other people. We are trying to stay healthy so we can continue working.
