I would love to get my hands on a few of those homemade masks with a pocket layer for myself and my family. I can sew a button or hem a pair of pants but I’m pretty sure that I couldn’t sew a mask.

Does anybody have an idea of where I could order or get them locally? I’m in Abilene.

We have church groups and others making masks but those are being donated to first responders and those who work in hospitals.

Where were the parents here? I get that college students are technically adults, but most of them are still dependent on their parents, and I just CANNOT imagine any scenario on March 16 that would have made me allow my kid to travel to Mexico. This was well into this worldwide catastrophe and I am embarrassed that so many Texas parents allowed this. How many other vulnerable people did these 44 kids infect? Ugh. I’m a UT alumni and this makes my blood boil.

According to the business, they learned of the test results on Wednesday. The nurse developed symptoms on March 19 and immediately left the clinic and has been self-quarantined since then, according to Texas Oncology.
The nurse was wearing personal protective equipment and hand no close contact with other staff and other patients while they were symptomatic, according to the press release.

Longview Mayor Andy Mack announced on Thursday morning that the county had reached its ninth case of coronavirus. That ties with Bowie County as the second-most cases in East Texas.
They only trail Smith County, which is well ahead with 47. Gregg County remains under a stay-at-home order after it was handed down last week.
