Texas Couple Confronts Man Following Daughter.

  • #41
I'd be willing to bet that the parents and their daughter do not even know his identity. I'll bet they were not told his name or anything about him by LE.

Since he followed them home, one way to find out is to file a complaint and ask for a restraining order. They would have cause to get one.

That's a good point you make about him getting caught in the act his first time. This isn't his first rodeo (as they say).

I used to think peeping tom's were harmless until I learned that this is how rapists get their start usually -- and then go on from there to even worse.

You are absolutely right! That's what Ted Bundy did for some time, and then he got bolder. A lot bolder, as we know.

Once they learned his identity, they could get a PI to check him out.

BTK used to stalk his victims too, I believe.

Yeah. Seems like you could be just specific enough to get the info out on social media without stepping over the line. For instance, a description of him and his vehicle, without the license plate or photo, and his MO.
Or maybe a full photo flier inside the stall door of every ladies restroom in that town.

With his photo & license plate, they could find out. I would if I felt my daughter was in danger,

The stalker is lucky he didn't meet up with more physically aggressive fathers. If my son caught some man stalking his young daughter he wouldn't have been very understanding , at all.
I'll bet her dad is armed and dangerous at this very minute -- be it a pistol, shotgun, etc., carving knife, baseball bat, lug wrench, you name it. If he is stoopid enough to return to that house, he may be taken away from there in an ambulance. And handcuffs.

Somebody, somewhere is next on his list. And it won't officially be his first time.

I was under the impression the parents posted the video on Facebook without his face covered and the news picked up on it and blocked his pic.He may be outed on Facebook if his pic was not blocked, let's hope he is and found.
Ugh! I wish they had not used their daughters name on the news.

[BBM] . . . or, may just be "disappeared" (involuntarily), under mysterious circumstances, never to be seen or heard from again?

If you go to abc13Houston’s Facebook page and scroll way down you will find the article and someone posted the pic of the perp without the blocking over his face. The locals will be on this I hope.We know not to post it here just a reminder for any new members. This guy will be skipping town or the country because they posted his car and lic.tags.
His pic is soon to be tweeted all over the internet.

What great parents! They didn’t try to rationalize his creepy behavior to themselves but took action. “The Gift Of Fear” was their guide even if they had never read it.

I hope he doesn’t try this with someone else. Wishful thinking!

One of my favorite books. I also bought my sister a copy.

I had an incident happen to me when I was younger. Someone followed me home 16 miles from a club. I noticed it very early on and I just wanted to get closer to my neighborhood where I felt safe. When I was almost home I pulled into my ex boyfriends apartment complex and confronted him by rolling down my window. I asked him why he was following me. He said he wanted to ask me out. I told him I have a boyfriend and a gun on my lap. He left. I was terrified. But I didn't want him to know which apartments I lived in.

It’s a great book. I try to mention it whenever it’s appropriate. Too many of us don’t trust our instincts.

Not to go off topic but today a story came up in NC about a woman who saw a guy in pet store that she liked and she went to facebook to find him and they ended up getting together, maybe it was the news that got them to meet but it was mentioned that if it was reversed it would be stalking.I do not want to post link so not to take away from this thread but I think that is a point, if it had been a man posting to find the girl it would be creepy.
I personally feel there should be a law against posting someone without their consent except in a situation with a crime like the stalking in Texas.

LE would have most likely provided that information. If not, the woman or her parents could obtain it otherwise.

I think the father did exactly what he should have in this case. He was alert, noticed the danger and followed and confronted this creep. He didn't over react and get violent. That is important. I really salute these parents. This young woman is lucky in so many ways.

I don't know the law in Texas, but this probably wouldn't qualify for a restraining order. It was a one time event (as far as we know) and that doesn't equate to "stalking." I know that seems wrong, but if you allow one time actions to be stalking, you would end up with a LOT of innocent people getting restraining orders against them.

You would think that because he stalked her from 2 different places that would be considered as a 2nd. incident.
He knew if he did not go to LE and turn himself in sort of speak, that they would come to his home snooping around.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 30, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are searching for a man who allegedly followed a woman for 13 blocks and tried to get in her car.

“Who is this guy?” said a tweet from the SLCPD Thursday afternoon. “Let us know! It was reported that this guy has been really aggressive in following and hitting on a woman. She stated that he followed her for 13 blocks once, and tried to get in her car.”

In a photograph that appears to be taken from the woman’s car, the man is shown wearing a blue T-shirt, black pants, maroon shoes and is riding a bicycle. He appears to be carrying a white bag.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the case is asked to call the SLCPD on 801-799-3000. To remain anonymous, text crime tips to 274637. Start the text with the keyword TIPSLCPD (which routes it to SLCPD), then a space, followed by the relevant information or photos. Reference: crimetip. The reference number in this case is #19-82999.

The statement of "following her once for 13 blocks" means he had followed her more than once?May be the reason the police got involved. From the article I get a feeling he is following her from work. Not to dismiss his actions but he can not follow her too far on that bike. With the police looking for him he should be caught soon.
