Texas police officer Coleman Martin faked death before fleeing to Mexico

  • #41
I'm thinking to fake a death there is need of another man who would unintended impersonate the "dead officer", concrete blocks on his feet ....
In addition I'm always thinking of Missy B**ers .... Who would have a problem with his life now?

From your link Blue.....can't believe this guy would expect to get away with this:

"Investigators soon discovered that Martin had a close relationship with a woman other than his wife. On April 27, they interviewed the woman and she gave evidence that Martin was indeed alive and the entire incident was an attempt to fake his death. In fact, the woman showed investigators an email that Martin sent her after the alleged suicide."
This is ridiculous!

As noted above, the police union is generally very strong.

Charges dropped against Austin officer who faked his own death, fled to Mexico

Martin also had surrender his state police officer license. He resigned from the Austin Police Department voluntarily last month, his attorney said.

Martin's attorney said they do not think he broke the law and that his actions were the result of a personal crisis.

Charges to be dropped against Austin officer accused of staging death

Coleman Martin, who voluntarily resigned from the force last month, surrendered his peace officer license with the state as part of the “deferred prosecution” agreement, prosecutors said.

He also must not violate any laws, except minor traffic violations, for two years, must not own a gun and must attend regular counseling.

If he meets those requirements, prosecutors will not refile the case as part of the agreement.

I'm SHOCKED, just SHOCKED that this police officer is not going to be prosecuted. Now, where's my sarcasm font...
