GUILTY Thailand - David Miller, 24, & Hannah Witheridge, 23, Koh Tao, 15 Sep 2014

So, Hannah and David are on the beach, having sex. 2 or more attackers arrive, trying to rob them. Hannah runs, with one of the assailant following her. She screams, he panics, so he hits her multiple times with the hoe to make her shut up - not rage as much as fear and desire to stop her screams. Meanwhile, David is fighting the other guy on the beach, during which time he swallows sea water. The second assailant, having killed Hannah, comes to his aid with the hoe, hitting David from behind. He falls.

But how did he end up next to the girl?

In the horrible crime scene photos there is a body floating in the water. So I'd say the police put him there.

what a gong show... This is just crazy... The poor families will never get the stories straight, will / can true justice ever be served with an investigation so corrupted like this?

How have you come to that conclusion?

'DNA traces found on the bodies of two British tourists murdered in southern Thailand do not match any of the possible suspects detained by police, confirming that the culprit behind the gruesome murder is still at large.'

'The DNA traces came from semen found in Ms. Witheridge's body. According to Pol.Maj.Gen. Pornchai, the single hair found in Ms. Witheridge's left hand could not be used for DNA testing. '

BBM
'The results have thrust the investigation back to square one, as Thai police say they currently have no information about other possible suspects'

I've seen the crime scene photos and what immediately jumped out to me;

There is no doubt, Hannah was the target. This was a sex crime.

David was quickly 'despatched' with a few blows to the head. Undoubtedly they were made with the garden hoe as the cuts accurately reflect the shape of the blade. The killer/s were not interested in him. It's obvious he was in the water at some stage as most of the blood has washed away.

Hannah was beaten and/or hacked until her face was obliterated. She was left in an exposed pose that is almost a classic signifier of a sex attacker who wants to show the world his total contempt for the victim.

From what I could see, Hannah had no defensive cuts on her arms or hands. That has to mean there is a good possibility there were two attackers, with one who held her down as the other raped and killed her.

This poor girl was left obscenely posed, with her face hacked beyond recognition and a stranger's semen in her body.....and Thai police say there is 'no evidence of rape'.

I have total disrespect for investigators at this stage. But I blame the Prime Minister, who is leading by very bad example.

*It was a stunning misfortune that David's roommate got (what I'm pretty much convinced is) a burn on his hand that is very similar in shape to the marks left by the garden hoe. I understand why police wanted to question him.

The murder weapon is the clue though. That's not a tourist's weapon, it's a local's. Someone has probably noticed a garden hoe missing and may have vital information. They are probably (rightfully) afraid of being accused of the crime if they come forward though. I think a big reward for information could really help here.

Apparently hoes like that are used by tourists to dig fire pits.

'Only ugly people are safe in bikinis': Thai PM

Thailand Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has sparked outrage after warning female visitors who wear bikinis may not be safe – unless they are ugly.

The military ruler yesterday questioned whether tourists in bikinis are safe in the kingdom after the battered bodies of two Britons were found on a Thai island.

Really really disgusted at the prime minister's comments. I hope people boycott Thailand.

That's what stood out to me as well. David looks almost like he's napping, while Hannah sadly is not even recognisable.

Yes, I saw that mentioned as well. I doubt if they are left lying around on the beach though, so still think there is a chance someone may have noticed one has gone missing. Perhaps more importantly, someone may have noticed a person who went missing immediately after the killings. Although that would depend on how much money the killer/s have. If they are very poor, they might not have had the means to just pack up and leave.

David was originally lying in front of the rocks, right by the waterline. All his clothes were gone and I'm guessing they washed away. Unless the killers were foolish enough to steal them.

Hannah was found behind the rocks, in a kind of outcrop that was more shielded from view. When police wrapped the bodies in tarp, they moved David back to where Hannah was, before taking them both away.

We can safely say, that should the leader choose to walk around in a bikini, no harm will come to him , imo ..

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/0...-bikinis-after-two-british-tourists-murdered/

"Thailand’s prime minister apologized Thursday for suggesting that foreigners visiting the country’s world-famous beaches might be unsafe wearing bikinis, unless they are ugly, in the wake of the killing of two British tourists this week.

The bodies of the man and woman were found bludgeoned on the scenic resort island of Koh Tao on Monday, dealing another blow to a tourist industry which has been struggling to recover since the army seized power in May.

Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha’s comments Wednesday triggered an uproar on social media and one British tabloid, the Daily Mail, ran a front-page headline accusing him of “Smearing … Britons Murdered in Paradise.”

Can they be safe in bikinis… unless they are not beautiful?"
