The Anthony Backyard *REVISITED*

  • #261
I remember the report concerning the hole dug near the pool. In my opinion Casey started digging but considering how lazy she was, she decided it was way too much trouble and nixed the idea and decided to just dump Caylee in the trunk until something easier came to mind. LP also said that she would not dig a hole and would not carry her very far...and it turns out he was right.

I agree with you 100 percent, digging a hole is hard work and we all know that kc is not into that kind of thing, if there was a large hole it wasnt kc who did the digging.

Aren't the pavers in the backyard this same size?

I remember a discussion of missing pavers/moved pavers and can not remember if this was ever substantiated.

Even NG did not say large hole. The story has just grown

I didn't anticipate this becoming a debate about what constitutes a "big" hole...so I'm trying to figure out how to edit the thread so we don't have to discuss what "big" means in terms of holes in the ground anymore! So, can we move past that word please...I promise it will be gone as soon as i can figure it out.

I see the thread title has changed.

I have no problem with that.

Folks, I just want to welcome you all here today...
for the BIRTH of a BRAND NEW Casey Anthony MEDIA MYTH.

1) We've known for months that GA found a "disturbed area" which he brought to the attention of LE, and that they checked out.

2) We know that the 1.21.09 doc dump forensic report described this as a 5" by 12" "disturbed area".

3) NG's latest "Breaking News" morphed this into a 5" "deep" hole, which apparently through the perfidy of a massive conspiracy was keep from the public until she enlightened us.

The normally sagacious and skeptically analytical tribe of WSers have only temporarily been led astray by this, but I expect that we will continue to hear reverberations for months to come.

Anybody want a 2nd knife?

So this isn't anything different than the small 5x12 disturbance from the docs right?

The doc does say disturbed soil 5" deep.

This is of the top of my head also but... the A's laid down some new pavers, had moved pavers, re-leveled some old ones or something over the 4th holiday. There was a tip of some sort about them pouring concrete in the backyard and it ended up actually being those pavers but I don't remember all of the details. I think that was discussed on one of the older threads. Don't remember anything about missing pavers just extra ones that were stacked somewhere and there was specualtion that Casey could have taken some if she dumped Caylee in a lake or river.

LOL okay this what I thought. We should put this in the mythbusters. I see Hot Dog has posted the actual doc.
Hot Dog, if you are around would you mind adding this to the myth buster thread with your attachment?

I certainly think so.

Of course, I could be mistaken. It's happened plenty of times before.

I will if I can get the NG transcript. The myth would be defined by her actual words. Also, it's not exactly a myth if it isn't widely believed. I think a simple correction of something said might not constitute a myth busting.

This is why we like the links. I am going to amend the title to de-sensationlize it. No bombshells here.lol

bunnyphoenix can you edit your first post and the title please?

Just do an ETA so people can understand the rest of the posts. thanks

We DID hear about this before. GA and CA told LE that they had done their own investigation into the backyard because the soil had been "disturbed". When LE asked to search back there the reply was (paraphrased), "Go ahead, we've already looked back there."

That's why I've been saying that Casey DID do some digging back there (and likely changed her mind). Further, then CA went in the media and jabbered about Casey maybe digging up "bamboo". Yeah, RIGHT!

In addition, in the flyover pictures of the A family home you can clearly see the criminalists have marked off a certain spot next to the playhouse with little flags in the shape of an oval.

Thank you for summing that up so well. That was how I remembered it, but my memory re this case hasn't been perfect of late...too much info!

I have to wonder why George and Cindy didn't let LE know about the disturbance when they first saw it and decided to look around themselves instead. Seems it wasn't just Lee conducting his own investigations. Why look around the yard if you believe Caylee's been kidnapped, and why, if you look around the yard, why wouldn't you bother looking in the woods just down the street?

There is also the difference between a "hole" and "disturbed soil". They are not necessarily the same thing. If you took a knife and stabbed the ground a number of times - you would have disturbed the soil but not created a hole.

The transcript MIGHT be up after 1:00 AM EST. I will post the videos and transcripts in the NG thread in the morning.

OK, I'll grant that. It didn't get to be a "hole" until today, though. People don't "notice" 5" deep holes, they trip over them. I think it's likely that KC did indeed try and dig in the back yard. If so, she probably poked the shovel in the ground a few times until her rather tenuous thought processes managed to connect to the concept of "work", at which time she promptly, as someone in another thread conjectured, "went to plan 'B'".

My belief that this is fabricated sensationalism which will be (is being) blown out of proportion and remain part of the web of case misinformation is still firm.
