The Barrels

So did Eisenberg get it wrong in that case, or was there another different fetus that was burned in the pit?
If she was in fact mistaken in that case, that would question her credibility in the Halbach case too i would think so with the bone evidence? And what about evidence that was sent to the FBI in the Rudy case, what were the results does anyone know? All IMO.

The fetus that never was is just another loose end left behind when the case was closed.

Anyone the least bit concerned about justice would want to know whether Eisenberg was prone to mistakes or whether this was evidence of another crime.

But with this crew it's like no big deal either way.

It's like the pelvic bone in this case. It's like no one cares. What if it belonged to another young lady? And of course, if it is Teresa's, that should be known too. Crazy to me that it's like they are all saying "meh, no big deal".

I agree, when someone's life is on the line in a murder case they have to get it right as much as they can. That's why i'm dubious too about any DNA evidence from burnt bones. There are scientific articles out there, and i have posted an article in the Bones thread, that state very high temperature from a fire destroys any DNA, so how on earth was TH identified through what they are telling us? I just find the whole case very suspicious.

Exactly.

Yep. The attitude seems to be to simply 'get the job done', that is, secure a conviction.

Suppose those bones from the quarry belong to some other missing person, whose family doesn't know her fate?

If it was my sister or daughter whose bone was being tossed aside as 'unimportant' because it didn't help the sheriff pursue some personal vendetta I'd be outraged.

I agree proudfootz.... if it was my family member, I would want more answers too. JMO

According to this document from the recently available trove police were questioning Steven on Sunday November 6 2005 about the burn barrels, their locations, and how frequently they were used.

Among the dozens of police on site none apparently looked at any of these barrels until the 8th - with the excuse of the 'vicious dog' tied up 50 yards away.

Actually, that's not true. The 4 barrel's from behind Barb's were collected the morning of Nov 6th, probably before this interview took place, I glanced but didn't see a time stated on the report.

The barrel from in front of SA's, that had the electronics in it, was collected on the 7th.

They did not start going through the contents of the barrels until the 7th, that was when barrel number 4 was taken back to ASY, and then brought back the next day, on the 8th, and they went through them all IIRC.

The first bone was not found until the 8th, that bone was 8 feet away from the fire pit.

Brutus alerted on the barrels on the 5th IIRC. NOTE: barrels, plural, not just one.

Parts of CASO report in regards to the barrels are in the first few posts of this thread, with dates.
