Interestedwoman, I think that is an excellent idea, a picture without a name would cause a relative to give the name of him, whether it is GB or maybe his real name. Much info could be gained from that ad. I know it would probably cost an arm and leg but would be worth it. Also if it could be put in a paper in Pa since we have thought he came from that state.

If we're running a notice in the obituaries, it really has to have a name as well as a date of birth and date of death. Otherwise, to run an ad in these big newspapers would be prohibitively expensive and might not target the people we want to reach...the ones without computers who probably always read the obits. Naturally, these people couldn't sign an on-line book of condolence (which most of these notices have), so we'd have to refer them to a P.O. Box or something. What date of birth do you think I should use? (Your best guess. I was thinking Aug. 15, 1910.)

Annasmom, in my above post I was referring to Interestedwomans post #277 where she said if an ad was put in the paper with only his pic. and that there was unclaimed money waiting for relatives someone might come forward. Sorry, I tried to post a reply to that but for some reason it didn't work for me and I guess I didn't make myself clear. I just thought maybe someone related to him might come forward with some info. I'm sure it would be very expensive. As for the birthdate of GB I really don't know but he sure looked like an old man in the pic. with GW, to me he looked older than people are saying. Probably older than he wanted anyone to know.

I still think that the "LOST" section, as in lost or found, who have a much greater impact....not everyone reads the obits, and when a person is pictured in the LOST section, it would definitely grab attention, and be less expensive to run.

New here and have read quite a bit about this case this morning. Just wanted to jot down some perspective that may or may not be useful.

Many people in high-stress jobs, such as an ER physician, enjoy when someone else takes control at home. And for many of them, it is a sexual kind of enjoyment. In other words, their relationship could have actually been sexual without any sort of physical sexual manifestations. Also, that sort of dominance/submission is enjoyed by a lot of people outside of their sexual orientations. For example, someone who is gay may enjoy those types of relationships with someone who is straight, and vice versa. It's one area of sexual interaction that which does not require the partner to be a specific gender in a lot of cases (and the only one I know of, besides physical bdsm).

Still have a lot more to read, though. It would be nice if there was an index thread in these forums that would simply list which threads to read in which order. For example, I read this thread after I read the first one that was started in 05, but it's obvious that there is at least one other thread in between that one and this one. Not complaining, I will probably read them all, just a suggestion.

Fantastic sleuthing all around, though! I hope Anna can be found, and soon.

Kyresearcher, I tried to send you an e-mail through the forum and it came back to me. Do they have your current e-mail?

We've tried to address that problem with the "Update" thread here and on www.searchingforanna.com. Also the "Searching for Anna" threads are numbered, but you have to log on to see them. Thanks for your post.

Thanks for mentioning PA, Kyresearcher...I had forgotten that MK was from PA and Brody may have been as well. I am actually moving to eastern PA in the next couple months, so if anything needs to be researched in person, I'll be glad to do it :)

Annasmom, I am waiting for some help form the administrator will correct it as soon as I can. I sent you a pm with my email address if you want to answer me through my reg. email (not sure it went through)

This was posted on another thread on this forum:

Changes to U.S. Passport laws, effective February 1, include the following:

"To protect children from abduction, and to address concerns regarding runaway children, beginning February 1, both parents will be required to personally appear at a passport acceptance facility, passport agency or U.S. consular section abroad with minor applicants under the age of 16 (up from age 14) and sign the application."

http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2008/jan/99809.htm

While this may create a major bottleneck for travellers, it does address the possible issues of a parent spiriting an abducted child out of the country against the custodial parent's wishes.

Dr. Doogie - Anna was who I thought of as soon as I read that on the State Department website!

I think the inconvenience for travelers is absolutely worth it...especially if it inhibits a non-custodial parent (or other adult) from getting a passport and taking a child out of the country.

Sorry if this was already posted. It was easier to just post it again instead of searching thru the threads. This is the list of phone calls GW made at the time of GB's death.

Joe’s research Jan. 1982

sherlock, can you tell me why the number in Martinez is assumed to be a doctor friend of Dr. Waters? Curiousity, as always, has me wondering!

I would assume that Joe called the number back then. He may have to confirm this. When I searched the phone number, it came up with the last name of Bendixen, upon further search, found he was a doctor.

brody had a po box hmm i wonder were it was located? and how did the person know brody was born in mass?

I spoke with the attorney Martin Dean. He had not recognized any names, George Waters, Dr Waters, George Brody, or Jack Wolf. He guessed he made the phone call to his office to see if he produced wills, which he never done any wills. Martin said he probably referred him to the CA bar lawyer referral system. Martin also told me he was licensed to practice law, but in the year 1982 he had just formed a new business and was busy with employees at the time.

I thought we tracked this man down and learned that he was an anesthesiologist, now deceased. I remember SherlockJr posting a photograph of him.
