Yet that was the whole point of the event. "The JPMorgan Wealth Conference was an event focused on building black wealth, investing in urban America, and education."

If that's the case, their presence at the conference is even more baffling. Prince Harry's keynote speech would also be out of place. No disrespect to his trauma, but I'm sure they could have found a person with an inspiring story that was more relatable to the focus of the conference.

I would bet money MM and Archie will be a no show and Harry will fly in for the service and then back to Canada ASAP. I would imagine things are quite strained privately in the royal family still it’s going to take time for those wounds to heal.
I have a feeling MM and Archie will not come back in June either for the annual event that month. Christmas is probably out too.... JMO

I wonder who wrote his speach?

I am going to be honest, I don't quite like The Chapel Royal at St. James. It reminds me of an old stuffy school room that gets too hot on a May's day that you start hyperventilating and need to stick your head out a window. Maybe because it's so narrow-looking? I am sure it will look much better once it's prettied up by wedding decorations. Do you think we will get snapshots of what it will look like inside before the wedding starts?

But Queen Victoria was married there!

Do you think it would damage the Sussex brand to be seen at an event where Prince Andrew is not only present but plays a large role? I hope Harry will attend for Beatrice's sake but I won't be surprised if he doesn't.

I don't understand why Harry's speech at a conference for black leadership and wealth centered around his personal tragedy and getting over his Mothers death. If I was on his team the speech I would have pitched would have been about the importance of philanthropy and talked about his patronage of Sentebale in Africa but frankly his co patron Prince Seeiso probably would have been a better choice.

Its not my cup of tea that hes been flown by private jet and paid handsomely for a speech about his Mothers death by a bank. I don't see how this is living privately, it feels like something Paul Burrell would do

They could still have done great charity work whilst being working members of the royal family if that is their goal.

Moreso IMHO because there wouldn't be a competing interest like could you support a line of clothes where the proceeds are going to charity if you're sponsored by Givenchy or coming out with a clothing line yourself? Can you talk about sweatshops and working conditions if you're being paid by Apple?

Speakers at events like the JP Morgan one in Miami are just to entertain the guests. They get interesting famous people to speak at dinner for essentially entertainment. The conference itself is over a few days and there are panels and workshops discussing the topic at hand. I have been to similar conferences and they had an astronaut speak at dinner once or a human-rights activist or a former politician (even former presidents). It’s just supposed to be something to give you a topic to talk about with the people seated at your table.

So IMO it’s not weird at all that Harry would speak at something like this. He’s an interesting person who suddenly would be able to accept an engagement like this. Speaking fees are very lucrative and these events are really benign. You give a feel-good speech about your life and get $250,000++!

I don’t know... the ceiling....

I expect a vaulted ceiling...

They should get married at the university chapel (all religions) in my home town... in NJ. —Seats 3,000. Its a few hundred years old and it’s gorgeous. Plus the acoustics...

I remember Peter Paul Mary, Phillip Glass, Dave Brubeck playing there...

Each year they have a vesper service I love... a magical musical Christmas service.

I’d get married there in a minute.

Maybe Beatrice wants to keep the ceremony super low key. And have a big party at Buckingham Palace, out of the paparazzi eye.

I can’t blame her. She’s in a tough spot.

'They don't need to be bothered': How Harry and Meghan's new neighbours are protecting their privacy
'They don't need to be bothered': How Harry and Meghan's new neighbours are protecting their privacy

“I’ve had other business fellows who charter boats who have had calls also, and we aren’t available,” he said. “We’re a very small-type community so we don’t like strangers just hanging out in bushes with cameras and stuff like that.”

Anne Girling, a resident on the island, said she met the Duchess of Sussex while she was out jogging on a nature trail and they wished each other “Good morning.” She said she’s opposed to the intense intrusions by the media.

“We don’t like it. Leave them in peace,” she told AFP in January.

Wonder what type of wedding dress PB will wear. Traditional or modern?

Re the JPMorgan event, it does play a role in their future events. Personally, I think they are using that event to test the waters to see how ppl react to their public speaking. Beyoncé was there with her husband too. Even though they declined to attend the Oscars, many celebrities were attendees at the Miami event. The end effect can go two ways, success or a PR disaster. I think they are relying on LA style platforms to make money. There are better streets to take than this approach, IMO. Its great to see that PH is talking about his mental health issues but is it appropriate to reference his mother's car accident over and over for a profit? To me its bringing the headlights to a traumatic event that pours more salt in wounds. MOO
