Can't even imagine how much the atty fees were for this (or maybe they just have attys on staff to file frivolous lawsuits?)
It wasn't a lawsuit it was an IPSO complaint so all you need to do is lodge it with IPSO through their website, any member of the public can do it if they find a story to be misleading etc but obviously it has a much bigger weight if the person who is mentioned in the story does it. They may still have had a lawyer file it but I imagine it was just a regular member of staff

Don't blame PH and MM or Bell Canada. The contract was between Bell Canada and the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General who obviously would have had the choice of which major Canadian telephone provider they would contract with. It is up to Ontario government to develop and reform the province’s phone policy, not Bell Canada as the service provider.
Who said I blamed anyone? I just posted a MSM article...

It is up to Ontario government to develop and/or reform the province’s phone policy, not Bell Canada as the service provider.

Here are the people who are doing the blaming (from the article):

But the royals were today slammed for not doing their homework after it was revealed Bell Canada was blamed for the death of vulnerable prisoner Cleve Geddes.

Bell Canada runs the phones at a string of jails across the country, and has been widely criticised for making calls for prisoners too expensive.
But it appears Bell Canada is yet to make changes - sparking huge backlash from prisoner rights' activists.

Speaking today, criminal lawyer Michael Spratt said Harry and Meghan should do their research into local issues before wading in.

The Canadian told the Sun Online: "I would urge Meghan and Harry to talk to experts, talk to service providers and talk to the people who are in the trenches and who live in the country they want to call home for half the year. Campaigners say it cuts them off from crucial counselling sessions and means they are unable to afford vital chats with family members.

The Toronto Prisoners' Rights Project also slammed Bell Let’s Talk for limiting inmates from accessing much-needed counselling – and stinging them with high phone charges.

Calls cost at least $1 a call for local calls (58p), and up to $30 (£17.50) for a 20-minute long distance call. Prisoners can also only call landlines, not mobile phones.

I'm not sure about the letter. Why isn't it TM's property since he received it? In the United States you need to register your copyright in order to bring a lawsuit claiming infringement so the case wouldn't have even been able to be filed if it happened in the United States. I am not a UK lawyer and I know the UK has stronger protections but I still don't think it's going to end up a smart use of time or money IMO
I had read that the copyright belongs to the writer in the UK, although physical ownership of the letter is with the recipient.

Information: Letters - BCC

She really made a poor choice to write that letter if she was having issues with her Dad. More fuel was put in the fire and she should have taken the high road and ceased all contact. JMO

Theres already precedent involving Charles, he was successful taking a case when some travel diaries he had sent out to 40 people of his travels to Hong Kong to hand it back in '97 were published (Charles claims victory in Hong Kong diary case).

This is also true of copyright in the US you retain it even if you send it out although the person owns the physical copy but can't reproduce it.

And now she has done that, people here are making negative comments about her work with Let's Talk :confused:o_O:rolleyes:

Thanks ZsaZsa
Ah yes, I see at the top of the article where the mail online writer uses that word, collaboration to describe their support of the campaign.
I must be a collaborator as well LOL
This is not the first time Prince Harry has supported this campaign, according to the article, support was shown back in 2017 as well.

They are two separate campaigns on two different continents. Prince Harry did not support Bell Let's Talk in 2017.

The history of Bell Mobility's treatment of staff, especially staff with mood disorders, etc. is disappointing, according to staff and former staff.
If you are not familiar with that history it's best not to comment on it.
Given all the poor publicity that Meghan Markle is experiencing it might not have been a good time to promote the Let's Talk campaign.

They need to get better PR guidance because it is getting worse for them. JMO

Thank you. I am commenting on Let's Talk, which I am very familiar with in my professional work.

ETA - I'm talking about our NHS initiatives here in the UK, to be clear.

I hope they never get "better PR guidance." I like to see people's true colors as much as possible.

Opinions are allowed that are different. That doesn't mean they are a bad person to have different opinions JMO

That’s still weird who keeps a copy of the letter they have written?

I would think it refers to the creative copyright. Even a letter has that, in the same way a poem or song does, and if you can be proved to be the original creator of the work, then you retain ownership of the created work and the right to prosecute if it is stolen/recreated without your permission. At least that is my understanding.
