Meghan Markle in UK: Is THIS the first place Meghan will go when back in UK?

After their departure from the country, they will return to Canada, where they currently have a property on the idyllic Vancouver Island.

Poorly written article IMO. They are living there rent free so "have a property" to me is not correct. There is no shame if they admit to borrowing it but everyone pretends they bought a huge mansion already. Those residences needs some hard cash.

Who just let's their friends stay in a multi million dollar mansion, for free, forever? And really, is that even appropriate? Just the upkeep on a house like that is hefty, every single month.

I don't know. The rich are different.

MM was received warmly and with open arms by the BRF. As Harry himself said “the family that she never had”

We can see how she was welcomed in more than a few instances:

The public announcements made by the BRF in acknowledging her as a soon to be family member.

The cottage they were living in prior to marriage.

Prince Charles joyfully stepping in to walk her down the aisle. The manner and timing in which it was done was undoubtably for the grief and embarrassment factors.

The same warmth extended to Doria.

The millions spent on the wedding with no budget stipulation in sight.

The millions put in to Frogmore tailored for her comfort.

The millions spent on her wardrobe of choice, no one made her wear anything. The only protocol as a RF female member is to wear hosiery for working events. She knew that going in, she did it for a very short period of time before she completely abandoned it.

The lifetime funding that goes straight to their account.

All daily task in the way of cooking, cleaning, laundry, market shopping, putting fuel in your vehicle, etc is taken care of.

The appointed titles bestowed upon her/them by the Queen.

The moral support and complimentary public remarks from the BRF as the crazy Markle family stuff began to surface.

Despite all of the above and more, MM has publicly and secretively claimed she was mistreated by the RF. We know now that she began to make plans on her own and apart from them early on. Anyone knows that in most business partnerships it’s typically advisable to give it at least three years to make an informed assessment for future direction. She bailed well in advance of that under the best of circumstances.

She hasn’t endured diabolical circumstances; working laborious hours in compromising conditions. It’s not a family farming business, having to hunt, kill for the bacon and manual labor for milk. There are no ugly uniforms, no early morning deadlines, making payroll on a budget...

In light of this she decided to air her woes & issues in a documentary followed up by a surprise global online announcement. Not including the secret negotiations that were taking place to benefit her new life apart from the RF. That’s a pretty big deal and a very deep cut to the “family she’s never had”. I can’t imagine how grievous this was to the Queen, it’s a dirty move to say the least. Add to that Harry’s offspring being held hostage, as well as her husband’s numbered days.

How can anyone feel sorry for her considering what she ‘had to work with’. For most people it’s a lifetime opportunity from which to launch from. Instead she said that “it’s not enough just to survive, you have to thrive” while she was standing feet away from among the indigenous population barely surviving much less thriving.

Will she ever be happy? Is it just not in her DNA?

I have no sympathy for her, if I did it would concern me. IMO

Yes, and then there’s the ‘rich by association’ factor too.

Great posts Luna. It actually makes me appreciate my job - no hard labor, only 40 hours per week, an office. I could definitely have it worse. I think your post make me appreciate my life. We can all complain about things but it is hard to take complaining from someone that seems to have it all with limited effort on their part.

There is much to be thankful for in life. Gratitude is a good and healthy practice.

IIRC, the owner of the mansion on Vancouver Island where H & M are staying requested them to leave. Do not remember where I read it. Was this just another “fluff” piece?

The really rich have multiple homes. They may stay for a week out of the year in some of their homes.

leaving a house empty is never a good idea. And who knows if Harry and Meghan are not paying for housekeepers or whatever.

The rich are not millionaires. Even a billionaire is not on Forbes 500 richest. A billion is 1000 million. You can spend a million a year for 1000 years

Harry said he wanted out years ago,

The Markle family has a long ways to go before it is as weird as the Royals. Think Andrew. Philip’s mother’s family and his mother.

And on and on and on

Maybe it's true what they say about the Scots, but my first reaction to the green dress is that is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a dress! I know she re wears her dresses, but still....!

Strange fact of the day: in the UK a billion used to be a million million, or 1,000,000,000,000 but in the 1970s we decided to drop a few noughts and do it the American way, a thousand million or 1,000,000,000.

I loved Spitting Image! Remember the song and the music video?

Yeah cos they used to play it at school discos and we all knew all the words!

Hope the royals, politicians and celebs are bracing themselves :D:D
