Her Majesty The Queen will address the nation at 8pm on Sunday U.K time according to Sky News U.K

I am looking forward to this. It would be nice if she gave a bit of a family update (for people like us lol!) but I think it’ll be strictly business. I mentioned in a previous post this is only the 4th or 5th time she has done an ad hoc address to the nation.

Coronavirus: Queen records special broadcast to air on Sunday

Coronavirus: Queen records special broadcast to air on Sunday
The Queen has previously recorded messages ahead of her mother's funeral, after the death of Diana, and during the Gulf War.

The Queen will address the nation about the coronavirus pandemic on Sunday, marking just the fourth time that she has recorded a special message.

Her Majesty, who has previously pledged that she and her family are "ready to play our part" in seeing the country through the COVID-19 crisis, will attempt to boost morale in a televised broadcast at 8pm.

The address has been recorded at Windsor Castle, where the Queen is staying with the Duke of Edinburgh.

Her Majesty is a very steadying voice that travels far beyond borders.

Bless her and keep her safe. And the UK, and ripple it out to the world.

Sarah Ferguson gifts NHS workers boxes of fruit and vegetables – find out more

The Duchess of York has revealed that she is sending boxes of fruit and vegetables to NHS workers on the frontline during the current coronavirus pandemic, and also shared photos of the items being handed out at Hammersmith hospital. Alongside the heart-warming snaps, Sarah wrote: "We are delighted to be sending fruit and veg boxes out to @nhsenglandldn workers on the frontline who are in great need. Pictures from today’s delivery at Hammersmith hospital, supported by Prescott Thomas who are delivering all over London."

Needless to say, the mother-of-two's fans were delighted by her efforts, and took to the comment section of her post to say so. "Wonderful work Duchess, bless your sweet heart," wrote one. "God bless you and our NHS and all workers," another added.

It isn't the first time this week that Sarah has delivered gifts to Britain's incredible NHS staff. On Wednesday, the 60-year-old gave staff at the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust a huge hamper of beauty products from Dr Gabriela Clinic. She shared the news on Twitter, writing: "Thank you so much @DrMercik for your very generous donation to @NHSEnglandLDN. Always a lady of her heart @BucksHealthcare #coronavirus #nhs."

April set to be a special month for the Queen, including her birthday and her family's wedding anniversaries

April is usually a busy time of the year for the royal family, especially with Easter and a number of special occasions for them to celebrate. While public engagements have been called off amid the coronavirus crisis and the family remain in isolation in their respective homes, we're sure they will find ways to mark birthdays and anniversaries privately. And while they might not be able to see each other in person, we're sure they're taking advantage of modern technology to keep in touch by phone, video messaging or the Houseparty app.

Prince Charles and Camilla will mark their 15th wedding anniversary next week. The couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on 9 April 2005 after years of courtship.

The Queen's birthday fell on Easter Sunday last year
Her Majesty will mark her 94th birthday on 21 April and is likely to be at Windsor Castle on the day, where she has been residing since 19 March.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's youngest child will celebrate his second birthday on 23 April. Prince Louis was last seen publicly in video footage with his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte

Prince William and Kate will celebrate their ninth year of marriage on 29 April.

Sophie Wessex shares powerful message of support with women survivors during COVID-19

The Countess of Wessex has shared a powerful message with women survivors amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The royal family uploaded a video of the Countess to their official Twitter account on Saturday. Addressing Women Peace Builders and Survivors and Advocates against Conflict Related Sexual Violence, Sophie said: "As we all grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, I wish to dedicate a few thoughts to you. This crisis is affecting all of our communities, wherever we may be in the world. As the UN Secretary Journal said, 'The virus does not care about nationality or ethnicity, fraction or faith. It attacks all relentlessly'.

"With those words in our minds, now more than ever we must stand united. This is yet another challenge and already more so for those of you who are already in difficult situations, enduring conflict and instability. It brings with it a cloud of uncertainty and for some, the loss of loved ones. But I have witnessed your strength, your resourcefulness and your resilience, everything that makes you all the inspiration that you are. I know that even in these dark times your courage and determination will remain firm."

Sophie added: "The Women Peace and Security agenda celebrates women as a force for change and the agenda finds further relevance in this pandemic. A situation which demands calmness, participation, collaboration, decisiveness and a positive focus for the future. I know that your bravery, creativity, problem solving skills and empathy will be even more valuable at this moment. I know too, that you will continue to do your best to be pillars of your communities and will use your strong voices to advocate for the most vulnerable among us.

That wedding date of Prince Charles and Camilla went right over my head. Our 15th anniversary is the 23rd or something (I'm terrible with dates).

And my mom will be 94 in July! Lol

Coronavirus: Queen hopes crisis will prove 'this generation is as strong as any'

The Queen, in an historic televised address, will say she hopes the coronavirus crisis will show that "Britons of this generation were as strong as any" as the country responds to the challenges it faces.

The message about the coronavirus pandemic will be broadcast at 8pm on Sunday.

In what the palace describe as deeply personal words, the Queen will praise the work of those on the frontline; NHS workers, carers and other staff keeping the country going.

Describing how proud she has been to see Britain pull together, she'll say: "I hope in the years to come everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge.

"And those who come after us will say that the Britons of this generation were as strong as any. That the attributes of self-discipline, of quiet good-humoured resolve and of fellow-feeling still characterise this country."
