AllyBee, I hadn't read this before I posted regarding succession! I see we're thinking alike. Yes, she is advanced in age, and I've read somewhere that she had an assistant who was very central to the operations inside the RF, but has left in the past year. Those two items may be why it seems like things are a bit out of control lately.

Also, maybe part of it is that there isn't the same strict adherence to protocols, etiquette, hierarchy, etc. any more. I've read that those things have really relaxed over the years. Either way, I sort of see a real conflict between the more "visible", Sussexes (who both seem to be extroverted and gregarious) and the Cambridges, who will be the ruling monarch and wife-of, and who both are more introverted. Without those strict protocols, I can see a hard row to hoe ahead, or at least some choppy water.

Yes, her private secretary Lord Geidt. There are also "insiders" claiming that it was Phillip who was always the fierce disciplinarian and kept his children and grandchildren in line. The dear gentleman is 96 now and a shadow of his former self. It's a shame to think of some of the younger family members taking advantage of HM and her husband's advancing age and running riot.

SHOES !

First of all, a lovely memorial for ex Prime Minister Teresa May's footwear: (I've learned a lot from this and am, admittedly, jealous. Who knew I'd be jealous of a UK Prime Minister's foodwear wardrobe)

And then: PARTY SHOES !

I have dibs on these ones: (At least I could wear them without falling over)

She’s got his back!

Outrage as Lady Colin Campbell claims soliciting sex from minors 'is not the same as paedophilia' in Good Morning Britain interview on Prince Andrew

Lady Colin Campbell claims soliciting sex from minors 'is not the same as paedophilia' | Daily Mail Online

She doesn't seem to understand that a British Prince, a child of a Queen, can not and should not be associated what-so-ever with anyone involved in human trafficking, regardless of the age of the victims. Human trafficking is wrong and illegal in the United States and I'm going to assume it's the same in the U.K.

A British Prince, child of The Queen, and in line for Royal Succession should also not be taking "commissions" for favors from wealthy businessmen of dubious ethics.

This article has a lot of info including that the Queen approved the show

Prince Andrew interview: Queen was 'on board' Emily Maitlis says - CNN

And this one says it was Sarah Ferguson who pushed Prince Andrew to do it:

Sarah Ferguson encouraged Prince Andrew to give interview | Daily Mail Online

"A royal source told DailyMail.com: 'Andrew has been relying on Sarah heavily. When the possibility of this interview arose, Sarah felt it could be the best way of clearing his name while presenting the public with a look at the real Andrew'

I think the real Andrew we saw was deceiptful, arrogant, and dismissive.

But then, Sarah Ferguson has never been known for her scrutiny or her discression.

And then there's this: "An advisor to the Duchess of York told DailyMail.com that we are 'incorrect' about Fergie's influence on Andrew.

James Henderson said: 'The Duchess was out of the country last week and the week before in Hong Kong; China; Saudi Arabia and Venice and was not involved in this program which took place and was finalized last week whilst she was overseas.'

As if Hong Kong, China, and Venice didn't have enough problems already.

It absolutely is! Unfortunately, there seem to be an awful lot of people who do not seem to understand that age of consent is irrelevant. Human trafficking is always illegal, regardless of the age of the victims.

What’s ridiculous is this is Eugenie’s pet issue. She co-founded an organization to stop human trafficking and it’s all she posts about on Instagram. Maybe her father could have paid closer attention to what she’s been working on.

How awful for her. As I recall, her mother was also edging in on the photo ops and pubicity for Eugenie's charity cause.

Eugenie seems grounded and a respectable woman who doesn't engender controversy.

Eugenie and Beatrice should have been exempt from any of the taint from their parents' actions.

I thought the discussions for the interview had been going on for six months according to Andrew? So what does Sarah's location in the past two weeks have to do with it, especially when there are such things as telephones and emails?

I know, right?

This interview has been in the works for 6-12 months, depending on what you read. I do believe that Sarah Ferguson could have and did persuade Prince Andrew to go ahead with it.

The fact that she is now blaming Andrew's private secretary is very poor judgement, too.

And the "royal source" that told Daily Mail that she was too busy with all this traveling is most likely to be Ferguson, herself

Nancy Grace covered Prince Andrew’s interview on her show today. Let’s just say no one was impressed. I didn’t think the interview would have legs like this over in the US... he really didn’t help himself at all.

Meghan Markle Tackles Tabloid Rumors About Frogmore Cottage, Baby Shower and Dad in Court Documents

We were led to believe that H and M were leading a brave crusade against the "racist' British press. Instead we find out that their bath tub is not copper, they don't have an orangery and her mother was at work on the day of her baby shower. How absolutely riveting! If the press are so racist, why are they not suing them for it?

Meanwhile, her fans and followers, unhappy with the lack of traction of the "affair" rumour, are now attempting to start a further rumour that William has a love child!

I thought the case was about challenging false stories in the press? I suppose in part Meghan and Harry feel that false negative stories could ramp up dislike of Meghan and maybe be a form of harassment?

Can I ask what is the source for the second paragraph? And also I wonder how that makes people feel about Meghan...is there some allegation that she's involved in these rumours about William?

The person who might benefit the most from a huge distraction, such as a "love child" by the future King William would be Prince Andrew.

In my mind it's not out of the question that Ferguson would try something like that. MOO

The source is that I've seen them with my own eyes via blogs and social media accounts. The original rumour was said to have originated from someone who is allegedly a friend of Meghan. I will not name them but the original tweet is still available if you care enough to find it. There is of course no allegation that Meghan or any other member of the Royal family is responsible but it's symptomatic of the battleground that the Sussex v Cambridge "fued" has become.

Harry's stance has always been that the press coverage of Meghan has racist undertones. Olivia Coleman, Hillary Clinton and numerous other public figures have claimed the same but nobody has ever been able to produce a single shred of evidence. It's a bold claim. The British public and press have been accused of being racist bullies, Harry has continually fuelled these accusations with his statements. As a member of the British public I take offence to this and I will continue to call it out.
