Why Prince Charles Isn't the Favorite Future King: Inside the Royal's Complex Relationship With the Queen and His Country | Xfinity

Is Operation Golden Orb in doubt?

It is no secret that many citizens of the United Kingdom aren't exactly thrilled by the idea of Prince Charles becoming king one day, believing instead—much like disgruntled people all over the world with respect to their leaders—that younger, fresher blood is needed to put some pep in an old institution's step...

I hope Charles gets a few years on the throne, poor fella has been primed for it since birth and has done a lot of good amongst all the criticism. I'm not even a fan, really, but I think he deserves a short stint, 5 or 10 years. This will also allow the Cambridge kids to grow up a bit without the (even greater than now) constraints of daddy being the King.

Cags ideal monarchy timeline:
5 more years of Liz
5 - 10 years of Charles
William gets the crown aged about 50.

I feel the same way about Charles. Let him have the throne and if he does not want it then he can hand it over to Prince William.
After all he has been waiting years and a short stint might be all he would want anyway but he should at least get to.
Your timeline sounds fine. :)

Personally, I am not sure Liz is going to hold out 5 more years. She has and is doing a fantastic job for a 92 year old. My thinking is she is torn as a Mother knowing Charles has waited for his position as King, but also realizes he is not King material.

With Camilla by his side, she is domineering while Charles is weak. JMO. Many of the British people have never accepted Camilla or forgiven Charles. This all adds up to big problems for Charles as King. And who knows what the world problems will add. Five years is a good number for Charles. He will have his chance as King, but not serve long enough to do too much damage to the kingdom.

Charles has had many years to record his thoughts and ideas of changes to the monarchy. IMO, he will face many challenges as Queen Elizabeth II has ruled for so long.

Prince William is loved by the people and will be accepted much easier as King.

My opinions only.

I know this is going to sound nuts and I'm prepared for the fall out, but in the furthest back of my mind I've had this thought for years that William will be the one to end the monarchy.

Setting aside the whole samantha hates her thing (I think there is waaaayy more to that) can someone explain to me why so many seem to dislike Meghan so much? I see comments (not necessarily here) that seem to be full of venom directed to her and I just don't get it.

Samantha probably needs beer money, and to pay rent on the trailer. It will keep going, as long as the rags keep paying.

My guess a lot is because of the fact she is not white

I can’t see him destroying everything his Grandmother has dedicated her life too. The Duke of Cambridge is very close to the Queen and I am sure he has learnt a lot from her.

I do think when the Queen is no longer with us that the popularity of the monarchy is going to be tested. I can see there being a referendum on the monarchy at some point but I’m 34 and don’t know if it will happen in my lifetime.

In other news the Duchess of Sussex’s brother Thomas Jr has invited to the Duke and Duchess to his wedding I can’t see them attending after the way he has behaved.

Why Kate Middleton Is Eager to Be Back in the Royal Spotlight | Xfinity

For years, Kate Middleton was arguably the most beloved member of the royal family. Sure, Prince William was great, Queen Elizabeth II had her devoted disciples and people were always going to be interested in what Prince Harry was getting up to, particularly if that involved squiring around a new prospective princess. But in terms of undisputed star power, no one garnered more notice than Kate.

The Duchess of Cambridge upstaged her Duke at nearly every photo op and pretty much all royal news could be boiled down to one of three categories: Who designed Kate's look—and is it an outfit she's recycled from before? Is she testing out a new hairstyle—could bangs be next? And, wait, could that possibly be the hint of a baby bump?!

Then a funny thing happened. Harry decided to settle down...

Thanks for sharing, Bette, I think that is more likely the truth of the situation than any of the crap the tabloids dole out!

Meghan Markle 'ISN'T hard to work for and staff love enthusiasm', claims insider

The source close to Meghan told Elle.com that the Duchess's staff actually really like her, and find her ideas and enthusiasm exciting.

The magazine reports: "Meghan, the source said, is anxious to learn about royal protocol and takes her new duties very seriously.

"She's a quick learner, and she’s receptive to the courtiers who have been providing her guidance and helping her adapt to her new life as a member of the royal family."

This sounds more like the truth.

The Duchess of Sussex revisted a tried-and-tested wardrobe formula as she made her first public appearance of 2019 today.

Pregnant Meghan, 37, opted for a £2,600 coat by Oscar de la Renta and a simple £179 black dress from maternity label Hatch for the visit to the headquarters of women's charity Smart Works in London this morning.

The look is strikingly similar to one sported by Meghan on an outing to South Melbourne Beach during their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji in October last year.

Meghan Markle struggling to cope in new role? Duchess feels ‘MISERABLE’ and Harry ‘GUILTY’

Win a royal, be miserable. Whether or not this is true, I agree that being royal is probably a lot of work and you need Crocodile skin.

I don’t think the reports are true, but I do agree it’s a lot of work being a Royal and you have to be willing to let all this garbage just roll off you like water off a duck’s back. I’m sure Harry prepared her as much as possible, and also made sure she was the kind of woman who was up to the task. Not everyone can handle it.
