Is anyone else made uneasy by the passerby pulling Prince Philip out through the sunroof when he was complaining about his legs? It always makes me uncomfortable when an accident victim is moved. (Unless CPR is needed or the vehicle is smoking).

I think him driving around their own property is a good solution.

I thought the same that Prince Philip could have had a spinal cord injury. The only time I would take someone out of a car after a crash who was complaining about their legs is when the car was smoking or about to go on fire. Otherwise it is better to phone the emergency services. It may be necessary to put a crash victim in a neck brace until they can be assessed in hospital.

I really hope he has a Royal protection officer with him now and a driver. Prince Philip should not be driving. Hopefully he will listen to The Queen and realise he could have killed the two ladies and the young baby yesterday.

Why weren't royal protection officers in the car? Palace faces questions over why Prince Philip was on his own at time of crash - as Princess Diana's ex-bodyguard claims Duke 'would often take off without security'

I live in a vacation place where having security is hilarious. No one cares about famous people yet they insist on having their security guards. Such egos.

I think it speaks to the Prince and his ego which does not seem to be inflated. It appears he has escaped his bodyguards for years.

From the descriptions in links upthread, it seems he rolled the car ("somersaulted" was the term a witness used IIRC). He had to be going at a pretty quick speed to get a heavy SUV like that to roll, though that model may tend to be topheavy, which increases the likelihood of the car rolling. Most likely he took a turn too fast, went off into the shoulder and either overcorrected or hit something as he was off the lane, which launched the car.

He must've been wearing his seat belt to survive something like that. Otherwise his frail old body would have been tossed around inside like a ping pong ball. Has it been confirmed that he was completely alone in the vehicle?

Oh dear.

Classic case of affluenza, IMO.

LOLOL, your post is so droll. Putting the word " classic" with the newly synthesized " affluenza".

The Duchess of Sussex needs a dresser and a presser :D

She's a wreck the majority of the time. Whenever I see one of her many disaster looks, I wonder why someone doesn't give her some help. I don't get it.

Oh, how I agree with this!
From what I've read, her British staff doesn't hang around long because of her personality.

She's supposed to have that friend of hers, Jessica Mulroony (?sp) over there now " dressing her". Did she go back to Canada? ( I know I would).

I guess you haven't looked at her friend's IG:eek::eek::eek:

I personally think it is sensible for Prince Philip to have a Royal Protection Officer with him as he could be targeted by terrorists for example. At age 97 he isn’t going to be physically able to try and protect himself.

Seems his one leg was crossed over the other, nothing to do with his spine, just positioning. When he uncrossed them, he was able to be pulled from the car. Its more dangerous to stay in the car, in case of fire or another car hitting it.

Turned out he was fine. Panicked but fine. Bet he's sore today, deservedly.

When I travel to the Toronto area, there are often shops full of British foods. Where I first learned of Spotted Dick. I'm going to try some the next time I'm up there. I love the idea of a full English Breakfast (when I'm not on a diet :)), would love to try it.

Homemade spotted dick is the best, shop sold/made tend to be too heavy.

If what I read last night was accurate he was backing out of drive/side road to the main road when he was T-boned by an oncoming car. He indicated he was having issues with sun glare. I doubt he was going very fast and would his speed have had any bearing to the vehicle flipping seeing that he was t-boned?

The speed limit on the primary road he was attempting to back onto is 60 mph if what I read was correct. He certainly should have waited till he could clearly see before attempting to back out like that. In one of the other stories it was said that that stretch of road is known locally was being a high accident area.

Laughing out loud that they are using a surrogate! Too funny!

As to the padding, many people do that so that the belly button doesn't show sticking out when they are wearing thin clothing. So someone using support padding undergarments are accused of wearing under padding/bump padding. Sure they are!

This is too funny. There is a whole contingent of people out there who comment on articles and forums about how all of Catherine's pregnancies were fake and her babies were carried by surrogates. Something about her not wanting to ruin her figure or being to lazy to be pregnant or some other rubbish. So now they are saying the same about the newest royal member? Funny!!

Of course, but I am impressed that he does not consider himself that important.

Please tell me these aren’t really torn jeans and my vision is failing!

Lol. Probably torn jeans that cost a fortune. They have been the rage for a couple of years. Maybe we will see what designer made those.

For me, wearing heels is ridiculous. I wish she would rebel against them as they cause women horrible health issues. They are called the orthopedists best friend

Yes, I just hope they weren’t carefully torn by workers in third world countries being paid a pittance to work in sweat shops! I remember Meghan wore torn jeans to the Invictus Games on her first public outing with Harry and her mother. I didn’t think it was appropriate, but I cut her slack as a private citizen. But now she represents “the firm” and I don’t think they have a “casual Friday” thing going on.

I agree about the heels. At least lower the heels...and DON’T wear them with torn jeans. Ugh.
