I was also thinking that they might remarry under those circumstances. I hope so.
I'd love to see Andrew and Sarah remarry SOON. Britain needs some happy news that's not about Sparkle Markle. :)
I don't understand why Andrew cares what Phillip thinks. He's an old ghoul and Andrew and Sarah have plenty of life to live together. Plus, he's so close to the Queen... I would love to see them marry while Phillip's alive, now that he's retired. He's been ornery enough for over 70 years, let him stew in silence.

Oh, ROFLOL. The latest rumor: Meghan and Harry will return from Morocco with... drum roll please... their newborn.. And all this time, I thought the STORK delivered new babies!! ;)

I cannot believe some of this tabloid trash, and I don't even like her nor would I go out of my way to take up for her in any situation. This is ridiculous though.

Is America strict with this law?
Ok, would that be individual or collective gifts, would that include the flight which was a gift?
I’m sure those savvy ladies would have known this.

Meghan Markle 'would need to report any gifts worth at least $15,000 that she received at her baby shower to the IRS'

  • Markle received a number of gifts from the star-studded guest list
  • Since she is still a U.S. citizen, Markle will need to file tax returns to the IRS
  • U.S. law requires filers to report any gifts received worth at least $15,000

I feel sad for them having to pay taxes on baby gifts.

The reason for this is the United States is one of the few countries in the world that taxes the income of its citizens who live abroad.

This will create all sorts of headaches for Meghan and Harry, who have reportedly hired American tax experts to help them sift through the complex tax laws that require the couple to open up their books to the IRS.

The IRS is known for being extremely strict in tracking down people they believe owe them money.

As I understand it (and you betcha I could be miles out in left field) if Amal Clooney had one letter to someone in Great Britain on that plane -- the flight was not a gift to Meghan but a courier flight.

A diplomatic employee with a briefcase would accomplish the same.

Now the IRS may have other ideas?

JMHO YMMV

Any Savvy taxpayer would tell the IRS that the presents were for the baby ;-) -- and that the baby was a British citizen

ETA

The person who makes the gift files the gift tax return, if necessary, and pays any tax.

As of 2018, a taxpayer does not pay gift tax until they have given away over $11.2 million in their lifetime ($5.49 million in 2017).

Well, they can certainly afford it. It's one of the consequences of having big flashy parties with coverage in the news media.

Harry and Meghan have plenty of attorneys and accountants on staff to handle their taxes and finances. They never handle money, receipts or paperwork. They're also probably happy to pay their own fair share of taxes, like the rest of us. It takes money to maintain nations like the US and England and we should all pay our fair share for schools, parks, infrastructure, help for the poor, health care for all, national defense and security, etc.

What did you think of Meghan’s casual look for today’s engagements? Are you looking forward to tonight’s more formal reception?

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Pack On The PDA In Morocco!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are on their last royal tour before they become parents! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex packed on the PDA when they touched down in Morocco on Saturday. See the pics!

ETA: I know some can't watch this video due to your location, but I'm sure you've seen the photos/footage from other reports about Meghan and Harry's trip to Morocco.

I like the casual outfit. I see she is back to touching the baby bump a lot and fiddling with her hair. Megs, cut the hair. It very rarely looks good down, more like a greasy broom. It is not flattering at all.

You all must stay!!!!

Agree, yes you all must stay! This thread is such a delight. I love learning about all things Royal, and love the perspectives from those across the pond from my east coast USA local...

My theory is MM is holding on to her baby for dear life because she could topple over at any moment in those insane high heels this younger gen insists is essential fashion?

Plus, you carry yourself differently in sky high heels, it throws the spine into a different alignment, and therefore the carriage of the baby?

I’d recommend some Nike / Liberty of London athletic footwear. I have a couple pairs myself. They are quite posh!!

Thank you for your kindness and good wishes. I have just seen the Dr and have been put on my fourth antibiotic. They are waiting for test results and I find out tomorrow morning if I am being re-admitted to hospital for IV antibiotics again. My Drs are concerned because they are running out of options. I have cauda equina syndrome from botched spinal surgery in 2006. I have a urostomy to empty my bladder. I’ve had infections before but this is the worst yet. I also find out on Tuesday if I need more spinal surgery so I’m worried sick and it is wearing me down but I will get through it. Apologies for all the medical information.

Thank you to everyone here for your kindness it really is very much appreciated.

(Dear Graham,

I’m so worried about you (as are a lot of other people). This sounds very serious and I so hope that you are going to be okay! Please be okay! I see you haven’t been here since Thursday, three days now. I’m assuming you’ve been admitted and hopefully you are being taken care of well and they have found some antibiotics that will work for you. Will you still find out about surgery on Tuesday? I so hope that you are not in pain and are as comfortable as possible. I’m so sorry you have to go through all of this!! I know how bad it’s been before, and if this is the worst so far it must be very, very very serious. I’ve been thinking about you ever since I saw your post and anxiously checking for you to check in. You are such a kind and gentle soul and so appreciated and respected here, please know this! You are one of my favortie people here! You have been so strong with all of this, keep your chin up friend and let’s hope this is these are the steps that will get you well again. We are all rooting for you and sending lots of love and hugs and healing vibes your way!!!

Love,
Margarita

PS:

Everyone please pray really hard for gregj. Let’s send him all the love, comfort and prayers we can!! We are here buddy!!)
