I think you'd be surprised at the amount of tourism they do bring.
Guaranteed on any given day, no matter the weather, :p there's a bunch of tourists excitedly snapping pics or trying to get the guards to giggle outside Buck Palace

But that's just for starters there's tons of other places with so much historic 'royal' connections tourist flock to see.

And let's face it there's not a lot else we've got to attract the tourists ;)

True. The weather is usually chilly and damp, the food is, well, Spotted Dick, 'nuff said...Toad in Hole...they better skip "Chuckles and Homewrecker". I can never forget what Charles said about Camilla's "panties". I am still grossed out 30 years later.

Skip to Wills and Kate! Please!

Oh I’d be on a cathedral tour, the museum, the architecture, the pubs, searching for some of those yummy dishes (not the fish thing) would need friend for left side of road drives through the countryside! English fashion, book stores, and the apothecary... I could go on... When I think of visiting England there are at least ten items that come before the RF.

What is so amazing about the monarchy is the pageantry of time honored celebrations. Especially from Diana on, the whole world falls in love with England. There is no other country that compares. So yes, I can see where the RF is really popular for tourism. And that is a good thing, I hope.

I hate big cities but I love London. There is so much to see and do. All of history such as the Tower of London, the British museum, Buckingham palace, Mousetrap. . On and on.

England has so much. Cornwall, Devon, Kew Gardens, the Lake district.

I love the dignity of the Royals now. They all seem to have toned down.

They support good causes. They could party all day, go to spas, play golf.

^^^ That's a nice story. The Queen would have visited Doria as well as seeing their new digs. It also takes away the urgency of trying to see the newborn during their 'private celebration as a family', although I'm sure the Queen will 'pop over' as soon as possible once the child is born. After all, they're just down from the castle.

BICYCLES??
None of that nonsense please we'll stick with our horses ;)

They have the most beautiful horses, tack, barns and carriages with history to go with them. Anytime they show anything that they have/use the horses I am at full attention always. Love them.

PS...Happy Birthday G.:)

I luv horses. I was so mad at my parents when young and they would not let me have one to keep in the garage??? Amazing that the Queen still rides. Good for her.
