The Monegasque RF (Monaco) has twins, one boy, one girl and the boy is the heir.

I believe he was second born (would have to check) but he is a boy. If there are two boys, the first born is heir and the second the heir presumptive.

Girls don't count. lol Well, sons are preferred over daughters when it comes to an heir. Even in Britain, even in 2019.

IIRC the rule of male primogeniture for monarch was changed just before George was born, so that William and Kate's firstborn would not be knocked down the list for a younger male sibling.

For the Queen's children, when Andrew and Edward were born Anne went down a place for each male sibling. But that didn't happen for Charlotte when Louis was born.

If Baby Sussex is a girl, the only thing that can push her down the line of succession would be a fourth child for the Cambridges...until of course the Cambridge children marry and have their own children. But a subsequent brother wouldn't change the succession position of a girl firstborn for Harry.

We don't eat that! I've never seen it, it looks grim. I googled and apparently it's a traditional Christmas dish in Cornwall.

Anyone tried it?

I've heard of it and know what it is, but I'm not sure if that's through general knowledge or from friends down in Cornwall. My friends on Cornwall tend to stick with Cornish pasties, clotted cream, and a cheese that's wrapped in nettle leaves...Cornish Yarg.

So if George had been a girl she would be Queen one day, regardless of subsequent brothers?

Yes. They had to do a rush change of law in each Commonwealth country before George was born in order to change that rule.

Happy Birthday gregjrichards!!! Looks like I am wrong and the little one will not be born on 4/30. I am now going with 5/1.

Not sure if this has been posted:
The Queen was the FIRST to visit the Sussexes at Frogmore Cottage | Daily Mail Online

Do you think the birth has already taken place just prior to the Easter weekend and the Queen was making the unusual visit to Frogmore to see her new grandchild, so the Sussex’s wouldnt have to make the obvious trip to B Palace to show her the baby?

After all MM made it clear she wanted the birth all secret and wasn’t going to do the regular protocol that other family members have in a regular hospital.

And, Harry seemed very excited and happy in those London Marathon photos, like a happy new father who didn’t have to worry about all the birthing stuff.

Hmmm

Apparently Megs is now past her due date. Yes, a nice bumpy carriage ride is what she needs!

I was born four days past due date... my grandmother drove my mother around on the bumpiest country roads she could find.

The article I read just said that the Queen has visited Harry and Meghan at Frogmore, but it didn't give a date. I think it might have been before William and Kate visited over Easter weekend.

Harry does seem relaxed for a dad who could get the call any moment to say his wife's in labour with their first child, but I can't imagine he'd do engagements between the birth and an official announcement.

It's my understanding that we will know when labour starts and when the birth happens. It is Family/baby pics that will happen when Mom and Dad feel appropriate time.

Well, they did have lots of royal visitors on Easter Sunday.

If this were not her first child, those are usually late.

And Harry did have that amazing grin at the London marathon and the event he had with Kate. Haven't seen him grinning like that in awhile. He looked like a kid with the golden egg.

Nope, I told ya, nobody eats that in real life :D

I just googled "stargazy pie for dinner" and can confirm nobody has tweeted that they've actually eaten it since 2015.

I did find this explanation for it's name, though :D

Apparently it’s called stargazy pie? I presume because, upon it being served for dinner, most diners become sudden astronomy enthusiasts and opt to go outside.

Yes, but I was referring to Monaco. Most of us know the Queen changed it for Charlotte and any future females in the British RF. Another mediaeval construct that needs to go. IMO

It doesnt affect any other aristocrats though, just the RF.
