George was my fathers name, so I'd be happy with that! :)

Williams eldest is George so this little one certainly won't be George also.

I'm going with David Charles Philip

"Producing an heir less than a year after the couple married faithfully upholds the heteronormative, performative femininity seemingly required of all royal women. At the same time, the pushback that has accompanied Meghan's even minor attempts to modernize this performance is a reminder of how trapped the women at the center of these traditions can become."

Totally agree. How old fashioned of Harry to not agree to be the one to get pregnant and give birth! Seriously though, who writes this crap?!

I like some names that probably wouldnt even be considered, not royal at all or royal enough.

Trevor, Ted, Paul and Brian. Matthew, Mark, Colin and James.

  • #406
I think Matthew or James would be appropriate

She is ranting that it is the Duchess’s turn to make amends and she must make their father a part of the royal baby’s life.
Good Lord. Hot tip Samantha nobody cares what you think. This is between Meghan and her Father. It takes time to repair and build trust. I hope it happens but IMO ball is in her Dad's court to prove he wont make a mockery of himself or speak to the press at all. I don't read anything from Doria.

Still think they have to put an African name in there.

Really...I've just had to scan read thru 21 pages to catch up, which most of were all posts from yesterday anyways?!

Meghan has clearly let the side down by not being a lesbian. How terrible of her.

I think they will choose a "different name"

Winston, Stanley, Lloyd, Jack, Clark, Nicolas

Or maybe David, Alexander, Richard, Theodore, Robert, Matthew, Phillip,
I'm disappointed nobody picked up on this ;) lol

Spencer James Phillip

Love the name Spencer, we had the most beautiful Irish Setter named "Spencer".

My favourite dogs, we had a couple when I was a kid, daft as a brush!

Analysis: Don't use the royal birth to trot out a dangerous myth - CNN

Trust CNN to make a happy occasion of a birth of a new royal baby into a political agenda. This article is beyond offensive.
Not only this^

But factually incorrect from the first paragraph. (I know-Big Shock;)Not)

Would've been a good idea to possibly attempt a little actual research of British history or at the very least maybe, I dunno, some fact checking

Wondered what the hell had happened when I saw we were 21 pages into a new thread. Seems mods have copied a load over - phew!

Just seen the video of Wills & Kate, she looked a bit nervy but I think the reporter had caught them by surprise. William, as always seemed entirely natural, and HAPPY for his little bro, sweet.

James is the name of Prince Edward’s son, though I do like it. I do like Matthew!

Never heard that theory about Phillippa of Hainault before. It is possible though, the royals and nobles of the 14th century wouldn't have seen anything particularly outrageous about marriage between Europeans and Africans. As long as the African in question was a good Catholic of course!

The racial hang ups surrounding marriage don't kick in till the Atlantic slave trade takes off because it then becomes very lucrative to pretend that Africans are sub human. The CNN article was right about that, to be fair.

True, but they are great with kids. They lick their hands and faces clean, Hoover up under the high chair...no random "Teddy Grahams" about.

The last Prince John was locked away due to epilepsy. Died before adulthood.
The BBC did an excellent drama about Prince John called The Lost Prince.
Covering the period leading up to and including the First World War, the programme bears witness to many major historic events through the eyes of the young prince, and dramatises such important royal occasions as Edward VII's funeral and the visitation of the nine Kings of Europe in 1910.
