The dress code for the Royal Box at Wimbleton is a demure dress for the ladies and a coat and tie for gentlemen.

MM should have known better than to wear jeans. That's really a faux paux.

But yet, she wasn’t sitting in the Royal box to watch Williams

Meghan Markle Is Being Shamed for Wearing Jeans to Wimbledon

I firmly agree with this article. So on point.

She is a new mother. A new member of the royal family. She is not perfect. She is not a diva. She married the man she loved. She totally left her whole life behind to be with him for love. (one of the most luckiest things in this world to have ) left her entire life for duty, for him.

Have whatever opinion you want of Meghan, we are all entitled to them, but so much recently has crossed over to just being cruel towards her.

I can’t help but think back to how Diana was treated the same, then Sarah. With Diana so much anguish. We know this as she told us. She felt she could never do anything right. Could you even imagine that pressure?
New mom, still technically a newlywed, new royal

I think she deserves at least a tad of graciousness and understanding.

I read Kate sat in booth 14, a public section. She chatted with peeps and had a great time.

Kate looked comfortable. I realized something about her, she wears conservative but body freeing fashion. Flowing dresses. Coat dresses. A Line. Moves with her. I’m thinking of this because Kate is elegant like a dancer (swan lake). She just carries herself beautifully.

It’s all very Shakespeare’s drama over there in Merry ‘Ol :D
;) Today, tennis enthusiast Kate Middleton, 37, is the royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club - the club which hosts the annual event - a role which once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.

Kate is only 30 some years old. Her clothes are nice for a sixty year old person.

I find them incredibly matronly. She is really young. Maybe she is trying to show that she is old and mature?

HM Queen Elizabeth II sets the dress code.

She demands modesty and traditional styles in the Royal families, especially those who are in the direct line of succession. She has the right to do so.

Kate most likely dresses to please Her Majesty and to uphold the "demure" and respectable dress expected by her husband and his father, both of whom will also have some influence on her attire and appearance. If you look at the royal heads of Europe, you see the same kind of c0nsistency in their appearances, too.

Kate has had about 10 years to figure this out. Markle probably doesn't have to have her wardrobe patrolled by the queen, but her husband certainly has an understanding of what is expected.

MOOO, but I think she needs to tone down the really expensive high-end Dior, Gucci, whatever gowns and outfits. It's detracting from who she and her husband try to portray themselves as. And the $3 million remodel of the home didn't really help anything either.

She might as well learn that she would do better with moderation in all things.

Didn’t she tone it down a lot at Wimbledon? But that was not OK either.

One can dress modestly but not wear clothing suitable for a 60 year old woman.

A nice pencil skirt suit with a jacket. Not the frumpy look that Kate has. Simple. Skip the weird busy prints. She always looked super cute as a coed.

The Queen looks great in her simple coats but then she seems to always have some kind of unattractive dress underneath. Strange.

But Kate isn't a coed any more. That's the point. She's the mother of 3 young children and probably enjoys dressing in prints, especially with a little girl. If you notice, her children are all dressed in somewhat old-fashioned clothing, too. The stuff that upper upper class British aristocracy like.

I think the Queen considers her outfits to be uniforms and hardly pays any attention to them. She looks darn fabulous and yet her clothing never overpowers her. The dresses under her coat are just part of the uniform chosen by her dressers and wardrobe designer. Much like her hats. It's hard to believe she would really spend time critiquing them, or fussing over them considering how busy she is an how organized her life is.

25 of the most stylish celebrities to arrive at Wimbledon 2019
*Note: Week 1 only*
There isn't an official dress code for Wimbledon, but you can't be seen rocking ripped denim or sportswear,
...and don't even think about oversized hats and selfie sticks, which are also banned...

After all, if the players make an effort with their outfits – within the strict confines of the all-white colour code, mind – spectators should want to follow suit...

Vogue's Anna Wintour dressed as impeccably as ever- wowing in a cream dress..

Nicole Richie - made a surprise appearance, opting for a delightful white floral dress which had delicate ruffles at the hem and sleeves. We also love mirrored aviator sunglasses.

Actress Joely Richardson looked stunning in a bright pink maxi dress by Olivia Rubin, which was emblazoned with polka dots... Look out Carrie Bradshaw!

The Duchess of Cambridge made a surprise appearance on the second day of the famous tournament, and showed us all how to rock those Wimbledon whites, dazzling in a white frock by royally-loved brand Suzannah. We loved the contrasting black accessories and cute raffia bag.

Amber Le Bon looked incredible on Monday, looking as elegant as ever...
We loved her lacy dress - and fabulous Kurt Geiger Otter slip-ons.

Poppy Delevingne never has a bad day when it comes to her impeccable style and the sister of Cara looked incredible in her girly silk dress.

Sabrina, wife of Idris Elba - looked incredible as she watched Serena Williams, ...she looked SO Hollywood.
We love the bold, contrasting red belt, high neckline and her black stilettos give the whole look a ladylike finish.

The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon on Thursday, Meghan opted to wear her trusty Panama hat, and choose a chic linen pin-striped blazer by L'Agence, jeans and a black cami top.

Former Made in Chelsea Star Ashley James wowed in a stunning red frock by Karen Millen.

Game of Thrones superstar Maisie Williams decided to match her pink hair with her dress - and we like it!

I think the Duchess of Cambridge has dressed really well in recent times in the Gucci and Chanel above. I don’t like the Alexander McQueen coat dresses she wears sometimes they do look frumpy but the Duchess of Cambridge’s new stylist has been doing a great job.

I loved both Kate and Pippa’s outfits. They are classic. I do not consider classic style matronly nor have I ever thought of Kate’s style that way.

Royals get critiqued no matter what. Kate’s dress at Archie’s christening was too short!

I wouldn’t have chosen jeans for Wimbledon. In all the pics I’ve seen no other celebrity was dressed in jeans, and all the men are dressed up looking fabulous, too. People get dressed up here for the US Open, too, even in the sweltering heat. It’s an event, a “be seen” event. So, it is not just being royal, it’s being in tune with protocol.

Maybe I have some aversion to modern American style that is either super casual bordering on grunge, or spilling out of see through outfits. Call me old fashioned but I find matronly attractive. Long flowing dresses are a fave from my 70’s era, too. A great figure can wear any style. Kate could wear a burlap sack with a hat and she’s still beautiful.

What I like about Kate is her style doesn’t own her.

Meghan is new to all of this and so I cut her some slack. She’s trying to discover what works. Like the British hats. We don’t do hats. It must feel so strange. Meghan could find some great style in lesser brands like our JCrew, or my preppy fave Lilly Pulitzer. One of our First Ladies really broke some ground in her shout outs to affordable American style, too.

I look at Meghan’s mom, Doria, and I see a beautiful mom who is quite stylish. She pulls it off well in both her formal wear for royal pictures, and in her less formal attire. That comes from knowing what works.

She has her stylist who does a fabulous job on her outerwear. Sorry, but her dresses are strange.

She obviously likes to look fantastic and does.

The ultra rich can afford whatever and the best advice.

They spend huge amounts on their looks.

Meghan looked very nice at Wimbledon, Down to earth, stylish. Simple.

As a coed, Kate had style. She is 30 plus years old. Her clothes are not traditional upper class look . Those would be different suits

Style is not only for the rich. Imo.

Kate was a hottie in college. Prince William took notice.

And now, she’s still a hottie, but modest.

One of my hair stylists told me back in the day—“I’m just polishing the apple”.

Kate, even in her casual events and attire looks like she throws a few rollers in her hair, and she’s always done her own makeup.

Meghan is transitioning from hottie on TV to what works for her. Trial and error.

Meghan has a certain sex appeal. People don’t know what to do with that.

I’d love for her to get with a stylist who can help her feel like herself while navigating all the protocol of being a royal.

Wow. Clothes that obviously do not fit. Not ironed. Pants dragging on the ground.

But I am not a fan of frou frou. Diana looked fabulous to me when she chose those simple but stunning dresses. They look great today still whereas the frou frou looks comical

The only one at the Wimbledon who looks put together and chic to me is Meghan.

I think Audrey Hepburn was always simple.

We can, respectfully disagree, human.

I find Markle's jeans and stilettos and big hat to look like one of the commoners. Not chic to me. More low-end Hollywood. Looks like a last-minute idea and not guided by the stylist she has at her beck and call.

And I just don't think Audrey Hepburn would have worn that outfit to Wimbleton. First of all, she would recognize that hats are forbidden, so that other spectators are not inconvenienced by your blocking their view. She was simple, yes, but knew the style rules and traditions, had great decorum and knew what really worked on her. My gut feeling is that Markle didn't realize this was an "event", just thought of it as a sporting match. Sort of like turning up at Ascot in yoga pants, trainers, and a yoga top

But, why clear out an entire VIP section to sit there with your 2 friends and bodyguards, to watch your friend play a tennis match.

Serena Williams is the star there. Markle really upstaged her own friend the real star there - Serena Williams, with this action.

And that somehow seems intentional to me.

She would have been much more "private" in a big crowd of people. Everyone is used to seeing celebrities pictured in the Wimbleton crowds. That's no big deal. But Markle makes it all about her.

It’s interesting, one of the greatest influences for me as a young gal in the 70’s was Kate Hepburn. She wore the pants like no other. I always thought she’s so appealing, so beautiful, maybe she’s trying to take the outward Fem sex appeal out of the equation to let her own individuality shine through. And it worked.

It was one of those break out moments where women broke the mold and were still in tact, as women... Diane Keaton as Annie Hall. And then the ultra fabulous Annie Lennox who could be both Marie Antoinette and the androgynous newspaper boy. That’s style.

Meghan is a tomboy at heart. There’s a certain kind of attractiveness in that. —Hard to do the flowery.

I suggest she study 40’s fashion.

Meghan has received death threats. Look at the vitriol she gets.

It is highly possible that her security detail decided how things will be.

The access people have to the Royals is incredible to me.

I live in a foreign country where it is ludicrous to think that anyone even cares about celebrity. A star came here once a couple of years ago with six bodyguards.I had told someone I would not even recognize the star and she said I would because of bodyguards.

Aside from American Presidents in the US, I have no other experience with people who are protected by security.
