Lol, August 30th, for the September 3rd addition of this magazine, it said she was having twins. So again, when do we think she conceived?

Politics aside (please).
I enjoyed reading this article with First Lady Obama's memories about her encounters with QE2 and President Obama's admiration for her.
I had no idea the Queen picked people up and drove them to her place. WOW, she's the Queen and she drives her guests, that's great to hear. No wonder she is in her 90s and in great health! Long live the Queen!

Can we play a game? What's for Dinner...And What Are You Wearing?

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, Prince William and Kate (no other royals) are coming to your home for Christmas dinner beginning at 5pm sharp until 9pm sharp.

What would you serve them for the evening, and what are you wearing? I look forward to your responses.

Just the thought of it gives me a nervous twitch. :D Under that scenario, civilisation would have broken down completely so it would be beans on toast by candlelight, and we'd all be wearing lots of layers against the cold of winter.

It seems like they can’t possibly eat much. I have some realky thun friends and when a picture is taken, they look of normal weight,

Meghan and Kate must be beyond thin in real life.

So a realistic meal. Lettuce, celery, cucumbers, sparkling water.

I have a beautiful Laura Ashley ruby-red plaid wool kilt with matching ruby sweater. I've had the outfit for at least 35 years and will not part with it. I keep it in a moth-proof dress bag and have worn it for formal night on a few cruises. It's not my family Tartan, but I like wearing it when men of Scottish heritage wear their dress kilts. Methinks the Queen might appreciate the effort.

I would serve a proper English Roast Beef (Prime Rib) with Yorkshire Pudding and natural gravy. I know HRH doesn't like starches, so I'd forego mashed potatoes and serve a vegetable dish other than potatoes. A gorgeous English Trifle for dessert, and, of course, a lovely pot of tea.

I’m really glad to hear that Buckingham Palace has issued this statement. I have a real feeling that the DM just makes things up out of thin air. But if anyone in the Royal press office is planting false stories...heads will roll!!

I'm no expert, but most likely the leaks are coming from the staffers who have recently departed. IIRC there have been at least 3 or 4 who have quit. Once they're gone, they (or their family/friends) are probably free to sell a little inside information to the press.

ETA: Betty Davis, your dinner sounds perfect. I made a similar one for a "Dickens style" Christmas some years ago. It was great and really not too difficult. I really like the Yorkshire pudding. I've not done the plum pudding, though, so may try it this year.

They are taking a risk because they will have signed a permanent binding non-disclosure agreement but I guess the money the tabloid rags pay is too tempting. They are likely guaranteed anonymity too.

It is interesting there have been no leaks that I can remember about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge treating staff badly. I imagine they must treat them well.

I often wonder if the people leaking info are mostly those that have left like some people have said, but also they might be in contact to someone in the US that is realated to a Duchess. I say that because an article I read used the same phrase and words just like a certain person in the US has done....just my own thoughts.

LOL! You're in trouble, Prince Phillip is not going to eat a garden salad that doesn't even have tomatoes in it :p.

How about I bring some food over and help you out. I'll be wearing a long navy blue dress with long sleeves, a sparkly Christmas snowflake necklace with matching earrings, hair in a semi loose bun and winter boots.
Soup is creamed tomato basil soup
Roasted Lamb with herb roasted baby potatoes, roasted carrots, and buttered steamed asparagus.
For desert Raspberry white chocolate cheesecake.
Pre dinner drinks are homemade apple cider, punch. After dinner drinks is tea.

Their take home Christmas treat bag would contain homemade roasted and lightly flavoured nuts, poppycock, earl grey butter cookies, and popcorn balls. I love making treat bags for guests.

None of it prepared by me. Too much pressure. I'd bring in a catering team. I'll send you the bill Human 50/50. Deal? :)

Me too. Shame the chefs on this thread live far apart though, no way I can get round everyone in one evening!

I would be wearing jeans and boots, because I would have taken the royals down to see our horses and dogs. We train service dogs, maybe the Queen would be interested in one for Prince Philip.

We would eat ribs, out of the smoker, covered with South Carolina style mustard based sauce, it is called, "Bone Sucking Sauce". And of course, beans, coleslaw, corn bread, and some of our own honey from our hives, I would give them a few jars to take home. Everyone likes the Chai Creamed honey.

For dessert, freshly made ice cream, with apple pie.

It would be so sad if royal protocol means that they can't eat barbecue.

I'm going to Mickey's dinner for sure. What types of service dogs do you train? My son is autistic and would LOVE LOVE LOVE a service dog but the waiting lists are either long or shut due to being too long. Anyhow I love seeing what these amazing dogs are capable of, like helping with laundry - brilliant.

Chills and Kate at Royal 'snowball' fight Kate really shines when she gets to do events for children. I bet she is a great mother, firm but kind and I love that she clearly has a new baby and looks tired! I feel like she does a lot of parenting and doesn't just leave it to the nanny, except when she has to be away doing events and appearances. I love that she and William try to do the school run every day. They will have a great bond with their kids, IMO.
