This kind of venting is sad and unkind to the Queen. It also brings on self induced drama for which they say they don’t want.

“Last week, DailyMail.com revealed that Meghan feels she can now do what she pleases without asking for permission after her decision to quit as a senior royal.

A close friend explained that Meghan felt that living within the royal family confines was 'soul crushing' and she didn't want Archie around such a 'toxic environment', deciding to leave in part for his benefit.

They said the 38-year-old feels she can 'finally breathe' since leaving and has free reign over her life again.

The friend said: 'She told her inner circle of friends that her soul was being crushed and that the decision to leave was a matter of life or death - meaning the death of her spirit.

'She also felt like she couldn't be the best mother to Archie if she wasn't being her true, authentic self. Something she felt she couldn't be in the royal family confines.

'She said she didn't want Archie picking up on her stress and anxiety. She felt like it was a toxic environment for him because there was too much tension and pent-up frustrations”

Again, as always, it isnt a direct quote though is it? Yet another unnamed "friend". Some friend, who blabs alleged confidences to the DM.

Edited typo and accidental :D!

The Duchess of Cambridge spoke about her experience of being 'isolated' as a first-time mother as she continued her 24-hour tour of Britain today

If you think of it, its exactly the same sentiment that MM said in Africa just said in a different way and a more reflective tone. The way Kate expressed it sounds much more empathetic to others in a similar situation but maybe thats because its years since George was very small whereas Archie was still a baby when MM said that no one had asked her how she was or whatever she said.

I think its a pity that H&M weren't on good terms with the Cambridges when Archie was born, if they were all living in Kensington Palace I imagine they would have been a good support system.

This is all very true, and it really would have been good if they'd all been at KP together.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the sentiment behind H&M's words, but they do need to work on the delivery and timing, they're very "kneejerk". Doesn't help having a PR team with zero experience in royal-ness, of course, will be interesting to see if they're retained.

The most poignant moment of the doc in retrospect was prince Harry stating she now has the family she never had - she had two families her fathers and her mothers and they have now walked away from the third family- very sad. I’m sure they have their reasons, but still very very sad.

I hope TM gets some long distance calls tonight from England and Canada. Would go a long way in quieting the current drama.

The socks with high heels trend was something I didn't know Princess Diana had tried. Not sure if I ever saw this picture before.

This is exactly why they shouldn’t have moved so fast from dating to married to baby to quitting. Imo, Meghan had no idea what being married to a prince would entail. A few years of dating could have prevented all of this drama and possibly prevented a (imo) forthcoming divorce with Archie stuck in the middle.

I'm not able to watch Mr. Markle's Interview. Did he expand on how exactly Meghan was to take care of him in his Senior Years? TIA

I just can’t celebrate a woman who is as hypocritical as she seems. And, yes, I realize what she seems is in some part influenced by press coverage. But the fact that she 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 about that is in itself hypocritical. She chose a career that depends on getting your face and name out in front of the world. It has nothing to do with a contest between the two duchesses.

I lost any respect I had when she didn’t take Archie and stand with PH to face his family. Cowardly way out imo

Protocol my dear. It's all protocol. She might not have had a choice.
