Exactly. This subject didn’t just come up the day of the IG post. It wasn’t a matter of Meghan breaking the news to the Queen standing with Harry and Archie. That had already happened earlier, however they did it. I also hope people keep in mind that family likely isn’t able to just “pop in” to visit or consult with the Queen. She has a calendar of obligations to consult.

From what I’ve seen both their Instagram accounts post regularly approx. every 1-3 days. Sometimes it’s events they have done that day, days ago or a week/weeks ago. Other times it’s a tribute etc. People are likely paid to ensure the accounts have regularly scheduled content. It’s instagram, anyone following either account is likely following dozens of other accounts. I have tons of updates in my feed daily and none of them draw attention away from anyone else’s. All imho.

Just adding the article I just read.
Security and the status of internationally protected persons (IPP) obligates Canada under a UN convention to provide some level of security.
Do they still have this status or not? if they do still have it now will it be revoked at some time in the near future ? i think these are part of the security issues that are being dealt with.
The statement (bottom of post) from Buckingham Palace states that they will no longer USE the HRH title because they are no longer working royals, it doesn't say they have been stripped of the title though and I wonder if that makes a difference with the IPP status.

Blair said certain individuals, such as heads of state and royal family members, are considered "internationally protected persons (IPP)" under the UN Protection of Diplomats Convention, which obliges Canada to provide a certain level of security.
The definition of an IPP, according to the Criminal Code, is limited to the Queen and other members of the Royal Family who "[accompany] that person in a state other than the state in which that person holds that position or office."
But because Harry and Meghan essentially have renounced their royal titles, Blair said their status is in question.
"Their position as internationally protected persons has therefore changed. There is an assessment done by our officials who have a responsibility to maintain safety for people who are vulnerable within our society. And so, that work is ongoing but that has not yet been resolved," Blair told reporters Tuesday.

Just found an article saying they are not stripped of the HRH title but they will not be using it.
I am just wondering if the HRH titlea makes a difference in regards to security and how/who pays for it and the status of IPP.
Diana and Sarah were both stripped of the HRH titles after they divorced, correct?

Just FYI for anyone who wants to watch the Thomas Markle interview, it's available on youtube for the moment. It's filmed mostly at his home in Rosarito Beach for those familiar with the area. Not sure if I can link it.

I don’t think Thomas Markle did himself any favors doing this interview, if commenters on this Washington Post article are any indication. From the article:

My thoughts: I’m not sure whether he means she needs to look after him financially or take him into her home to care for him, or pay for him to live in assisted living. But he’s doing something no parent should ever do to their child...he’s laying a guilt trip on her. $5600 a month goes quite far in Mexico, as does $20,000. I think he’s forgotten that he also has a son and grandson here in Oregon, unless they are estranged also.
Unfortunately, TM backed himself into a corner (with Samantha’s encouragement) when he had those pictures taken before the wedding. Up until that point, he was a welcome part of the wedding party. We don’t know what went on between them from that point until his heart attack. But even before his heart attack, I recall a very nice and welcoming statement by Harry and Meghan. But the problem was that after the news of the photos broke he would have been a tabloid nightmare if he had attended and walked her down the aisle. He blew it and he knew it. But he blames everyone else. JMO

Folks, if you are going to link to articles or video, please make sure the link is to an MSM source, not some random youtuber. Believe it or not, our experience is such that there are times when unsourced material has been known to be altered. Thus the need to stick to MSM who will have verified their sources that WS is not able to.
It will be interesting to see what this actually means IMO - I seem to recall reading that who you must curtsy to has an HRH component- something about Diana having to curtsy to Princess Michael I think? And her saying no you don’t ?? I will have to go see what I can find

I watched most of the TM YouTube and have to say, Mr Markle, you haven’t helped yourself at all, unless just venting your pain helped. Made the whole lot of them seem less than good. I felt bad for him cause at the rooot of what I’ve seen so far he doesn’t understand how his relationship with his baby girl died. Sad, but pathetic.
also, will his admitting he lied to press etc affect his believability as a witness in the tabloid case? I wouldn’t want him as a witness.

Won't the curtsying and other components of HRH status with other royals be sort of moot? From the sounds of Harry's speeches, etc. it doesn't sound like they'll be going back to England any time soon, nor visiting with any members of the BRF. Except for marketing/branding purposes and covering the cost of their security, it doesn't seem as though MM or Harry are interested in any other responsibilities that come with the title. MOO Harry speaks of it more as a burden, MM needs her "freedom".
Yep. They get all of the benefits and none of the detriments of their decision. Not sure what to make of this vis-a-vis the Queen. Is she overindulgent, or is there a plan. Idk. But, imo, Markle will do her best to damage, if not destroy, the monarchy if she gets her way.
