He attended their wedding in a non professional capacity?

Ahh, I didn't know that, thanks.

I just thought that being friendly with someone might not be the same as tight friends with someone? There can be different levels of friendship.

I've noticed some reporters say they're 'friends' with someone and I've found it's often a bit of an exaggeration, and I wasn't sure if this friendship wasn't be exaggerated a little bit.

Maybe she's the only one who agreed to attend without insisting on an appearance fee.

Seriously ? Meghan pretty much disowned them all from the off man - like she was embarrassed of them all. Granted her dad and step sister made mistakes, but she could have talked it through and tried to heal any rifts that could potentially cause her a)personal pain and b)further embarrassment.

Not seriously. It was a joke.

Every single outlet reports they're personal friends. From Huffpo to Fox News -- so something for everyone :)

Would you attend your sisters wedding, obviously?!

Not if she was as volatile as Samantha!

She had barely seen Meghan in 10 years, the relationship was minimal... and then out Sam crawled on news of the romance, and when she realised she couldn't cash in on being part of the action she went the opposite way, no doubt fuelled and manipulated by unscrupulous journos. Nevertheless, she showed her true colours well before the wedding, she scuppered her own chance to attend and then dragged their dad down with her.

You can’t with some people. In fact, with some toxic people it’s not advisable to do so. Since we can’t know what these relationships are really like, we really can’t judge.

When people have wealth that enables them not to work (interest income, residuals, etc.) those are exceptions to immigration rules. Wealthy people can pretty much live wherever they want.

No. That is definitely not correct, at least by USCIS rules. Canada, and other countries, I wouldn't know.

So? So what? Sounds like people are expecting perfection and if they don’t see or hear it they’re taking that opportunity to pounce. I don’t care if Kate is also famous and hasn’t said the same words.

Leave them alone. Famous people don’t “ask for it”.

If any one of us had the scrutiny these people have we’d destroyed by the press and public.

The public and press hounded princess Diana to death. And now no matter what this family does it’s happening to them.

Oh and has anyone compared Kate’s children to apes? She’s lucky that Meghan came along for the nasty public and press to harp on so they wouldn’t stalk her as much and maybe try to get more naked photos of her on private property.

But Meghan has a choice she doesn’t, to step out. And I’m glad she’s taking it.

I don’t understand anyone criticizing her. Sounds like bitter ugliness to me.
I'm not sure where exactly all of this is coming from...but Kate is famous.
So, the situation with MM's public persona is pretty bad....
I'm saying this in a professional context...I'm not being snarky.
MM did not go into this transition with a strong PR team.
She is young inexperienced and VERY much out of her element.
She's gone through a huge transition and some of the things that she said on camera were nothing short of a PR disaster. Does this justify the press publishing the awful things that they did...NO. Did it make things worse? YES
So much so that they had to hire a Crisis Management Team.
Meghan Markle hires crisis PR firm that once represented Harvey Weinstein and Michael Jackson 'in snub to palace aides as she tries to improve her public image'

This recent discussion has just turned into a B-fest requiring major cleanups and we don't have time to moderate.

Unless there is new MSM, please move on from discussing / arguing over the recent PH & MM debacle. It's gone on far too long, so let's get back to the light-hearted thread it was intended to be.

After Peter Phillips' and Kitty Spencer's royal cash-in Fergie unveils her latest business dream offering Tiffany-style rings, 'coronet' badges (if you buy jewellery) and 'Majestic' bed linen

Fergie unveils her latest business dream | Daily Mail Online

I brought it up last thread but any time I read these articles I crack up thinking of “The Windsors” when Fergie was trying to sell her Royal Blenders in every episode. The show was so silly but it made me laugh out loud every episode.
