Ms McHugh reluctantly agreed.

Ms McHugh sighed loudly and said, "Yes."

I think they are trying to establish that as he had and was able to easily string her along for years that there was never any pressure to take action (and get rid of Allison). It is diffusing his motive.

Aha, yes, you are right....isn't it weird....she is sounding like a desperate stalker and Gerard is looking harmless :tantrum:

This is so very typical of people in affairs. The man promises he will leave 'one day; the woman holds on to this fantasy which never eventuates.

I know a couple who lived like this for 25 years!
