Allisons responses appear to me to be from someone who had been down trodden, bullied and told she was the problem and wasn't good enough, she fought to please and make things right.

I really hope that someone in the Baden Clay clan are reading these posts. This is what you produced. You taught him he was the golden child and that's how he expected to be treated.

I know! I re-read it before I posted it. On going back a 3rd time they added a line at the bottom

"I don't know, maybe he was feeling guilty, I don't know."

12:29pm: Under questioning from defence barrister Michael Byrne QC Ms Nutting described Mr Baden-Clay as a "caretaker".

"He certainly wanted her to be fit. He didn't want her having those flashbacks," she said.

"I don't know, maybe he was feeling guilty, I don't know."

By the time GBC and Allison were seeing the Nutting psych - GBC was back on with TM in Dec. IMO, he was just going thru the motions, allaying fears yet keeping on the pressure - 'it's her fault not mine'.

I keep waiting for the BS argument that he was a sex addict and that's why he had to have the xtras.

Such a toxic marriage and well beyond repair no matter how much professional assistance they could have had. GBC could not change, simple.

I think Allison would have eventually seen this for herself. Unfortunately she was never given the chance.

12:46pm: Ms Ritchie first saw Allison for a single counselling session on March 27, 2012.

Reading from her notes, she said Allison said: "I'm feeling inadequate, not good enough, I believe I let it happen. Gerard's way is the right way. Gerard has had an affair for the last three years. Parenting - Gerard criticises me. I fear one day he will leave."

"When I asked her what she wanted from counselling, she said, 'to work on me, to sort lots of issues, especially parenting'."

12:52pm: Ms Ritchie said she asked Mrs Baden-Clay to describe herself to which she replied:

"I am a mother of three girls, 10, 8 and 5. I work with my husband in a real estate agency four days a week and at that particular time she said she had worked for the past six days running. She lived in the United Kingdom in '98 and '99 and 2000. She said she was a ballet dancer and a teacher. She was a high achiever. She said she spoke two languages. She said she had studied psychology at university. And then she told me that on her honeymoon she had taken the drug Valerian as an anti-malarial medication and that she had a very severe reaction to that, which had resulted in depression and psychotic episodes. She said she had panic attacks in a particular pregnancy.

"She said her husband's attitude was 'get over it'. For six months she was under a psychiatrist by the name of Dr Tom George. And lastly she said for the past three years Gerard has been having an affair."

Oh yeah. GBC was the expert on parenting. He learnt from his parents and look how well he turned out.

  • #359
She would never have made him happy. He was critical because he needed to find fault in her in order to excuse his own lusts.

Absolutely agree. They kept engaging/disengaging from counsellors. This maintains a no change situation. It perpetuates the toxic elements. My opinion only.
