So 4 days before Allison died he was telling the marriage counsellor he wanted to work on his marriage, and telling Toni he'd be separated by July 1st?

OK I'm really questioning this .. what on earth is the point of spending every second night opening up the wounds?

its more getting it out of the system than opening wounds I think . otherwise gbc just forgets that it ever happened and gets on with the next affair while Al suffers it all alone in silence JMO

Which to me suggests he hadn't taken a backward step to work out what HE wanted at all, he was just telling everyone what they wanted to hear because he was being pressured from all sides ..

I'm sure that's the theory .. it does assume that his rightful place is in his marriage which may or may not be true ..

if you do that you don't tell everyone you just do it ,most of it was for business contacts and his own ego

3:04pm: Ms Ritchie is now under cross-examination from Mr Baden-Clay's defence counsel Michael Byrne QC.

She said Mr Baden-Clay told her about his achievements, but could not remember him speaking about his children.

"I think had Gerard mentioned his children, I would have put that down, because that was important to me. When I ask Gerard about who he is I would hope that we would mention his relationships ...

"I don't remember him talking about his children."

So DID she want to work on herself .. or did the counsellor THINK Allison SHOULD want to work on herself and so she told her that? Did the counsellor ever give either of these two space to tell her what THEY wanted, or to even work that out for themselves?

I completely agree with you there! To me it sounds like they were told to go wallow in the agony and pull out every single excruciating detail to torture each other with, I mean .. would anyone look at their spouse with any kind of enthusiasm after that?

I think that the suggestion was that GBC took the time to listen to Allison's express her feelings, was
for him to show empathy (ha ha) and Allison to vent her hurts, not so much question time.
IMO it was poor judgement so early in the prof relationship.
She knew neither client well enough.

Doubt he would have been very happy having the counsellor pressure/convince him to do the 15 minute thing. I'm not really criticizing the counsellor, but I think she might have jumped the gun a bit there.
