3:08pm: Mr Baden-Clay has broken down in the witness box.

"I fell in love with her," he said.

3:07pm: Mr Baden-Clay said he was appointed the head of a new 24-hour division with Flight Centre.

He moved from the Toombul Flight Centre office to an office on George Street in the CBD.

It was there he met Allison.

"She had been engaged previously, but had broken that off," he said.

Hopefully the jury is feeling as squeamish as the rest of us hearing this

Um ok, "in his mind" he was not in a relationship with Toni. That's so weak. Either he was too gutless to end the affair and risk the fall out, or he wanted the 'benefits' of the affair with none of the attachment. How is that supposed to make him look any less desperate or conniving?

Oh my gawd - he's crying in the witness box...! Is this regret at what he's done? Is it genuine feeling for Allison? Is it a cynical ploy order by the lawyers? Is he that good an actor? Is it the thought of jail? Is he innocent?

I hope they are.

This now sounds convoluted - a couple of hours explaining the past and 10 minutes on the night in question?

I wonder if someone is thinking to themselves "shut-up! I cant remember all of this!"

Unless Byrne is going to prattle on for another hour, GBC will have 3 days to memorize everything that was said - and be able to deflect the questioning.
Maybe they are not putting too much emphasis on the night of the crime, so that questioning from the Crown is limited.

.

Tell a lie, make it big -- repeat it often and it will be accepted as truth

Byrne said it

Repeated swiftly afterwards by GBC

It's mind control

The jury's being subjected to 'programming'

Same as school. Repetition engraves things on the memory

When the jury hears GBC saying what they've just heard from Byrne, it will sound like 'truth' to them, because the brain finds the first instance of the information and sends back message to the conscious mind, ' Hey. We've heard this before'. And people tend to lean towards what they've heard before because it's familiar to them and is already contained in their memory

The jury's being worked
