This is bloody unfair and despicable, I cannot understand how he is allowed to
smear her character and get away with it...he is a worm

hang in there.... .. the prosecution has the last word.

I've pulled back from posting here in the last few days.

Without wishing to reveal too much of my own personal life and experience, I find much of what he is saying quite believable. There are many, many shades of grey here. GBC's flaws may be many and great, but he is still a human being and I don't believe he is rotten to the core.

I personally think, if I were on the jury and hearing this for the first time, I would not be feeling there was enough evidence to convict.

There is a school of thought that if a mother is particularly keen on having a child of a particular sex it is actually advisable to not find out beforehand, the idea being that the thrill of meeting the baby mitigates the disappointment of it being the less preferred gender.

When the prosecution get their chance to question him are they on a time limit and do they have a set number of questions they can ask ?

We may be here this time next year at this rate.....

Sorry if that's a silly question

There is no time limit except they may run out of the days allocated in which case there would be a break and the rest heard at a later date when more court time and lawyers are available. None of the lawyers would want this so I think they will make an effort to wrap it up in the allotted time.

I think what he is saying is that Toni was flattering for his ego and he clearly needed that attention which just wasn't available at home with the demands of a family.
This is about his needs.

Not only that but he'd never experienced it before implying that Allison didn't appreciate him EVER.

I just hope that every snivelling word is just another nail in his coffin, so to speak.

The partners bought flashy cars for their wives and upgraded their houses #badenclay

GBC's foaming at the mouth - he didn't own his own home - it was rented.

BBM: Zoloft is not a prn medication ( as required ), you just don't take it "whenever" not like taking paracetamol for a headache!

It is sometimes prescribed PRN for times like PMT or when someone knows that they are going to be in a stressful situation.

Frost bought jewellery and clothes, Broom bought a house and cars - Gerard #badenclay

What the hell has this got to do with a murder trial? I'm sorry friends, I'm not taking this well today.

Toni went overseas at one stage, he thought it would be the circuit breaker but she returned - Gerard #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 24s

Gerard says they met up to have trysts "in my car". #badenclay

Gerard says he tried to break it off with Toni on numerous occasions. Sometimes successful for days, sometimes for month or two. #badenclay

Gerard: And I didn't want to jeopardise that. #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 14s

Gerard says Toni was a good salesperson and he was worried about the impact on the business if he separated from her permanently. #badenclay

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 30s
Gerard says Toni was volatile with her moods, he was concerned about the impact on the business if they separated #badenclay

Okay, Gerard, so you only wanted a physical relationship with Toni but when she wanted more you were stuck as your business could be impacted. She was such an obsessed nut you just couldn't get away from her.

Yet, after Allison found out and you ended it, YOU were the one to start things back up again, after Toni had moved on. PS I think you have yourself to blame for your business going down the toilet.

11:07am: Mr Byrne has turned his questioning to Mr Baden-Clay's business.

"Ultimately we were the number one [Century 21] office in Queensland," he said.

He said he earned $5500 a week at times.

"It was going very, very successfully," Mr Baden-Clay said.

Mr Baden-Clay said he and his business partner Phil Broome bought identical Lexuses.

"First time I test-drove my car, I owned it. It was purely a whim," he said.

I just don't know how much of this unintentional comedy I can take.. its like some kid has sat down at a typewriter and banged away telling a story that he thinks is like the life of the rich and famous.......

Gerard is an insult to peoples intelligence..

all his stories wind up with him the victim /hero and everyone else being a bit snarky/ depressed/ demanding/ ..... its amazing, really...

Oh Trooper this is all downright evil.
