There is no time limit except they may run out of the days allocated in which case there would be a break and the rest heard at a later date when more court time and lawyers are available. None of the lawyers would want this so I think they will make an effort to wrap it up in the allotted time.

Yep I think it will be all over & done by Thursday...the final day of the allocated time.

I think even his lawyers will be needing the bucket by now

He is the worst kind if narcissist, but I am now firmly convinced a psychopath as well. He will take anyone down if it means he can look better including his own family, even his own children. He should never be let out and instead be locked up in Woolston Park (for the criminally insane)! All in my opinion.

If by any chance the prosecution will be able to diminish and/or ridicule him and make him look laughable and incompetent we will see a fury unleashed.

Gerard: We were the number one office in Queensland. Number 10 in Australia. #badenclay

Gerard says he, Phil and Jocelyn at times were getting paid $5500 a week. #badenclay

Gerard: I don't want to cast aspersions. They tended to buy flashy things. #badenclay

If he doesn't want to cast aspersions, why did he announce this to the world?

Gerard says as the business continued to grow, he had more of an expectation that she would be able to do more. #badenclay

Gerard says as it was, they were almost living separate lives. #badenclay

Gerard: I wanted us to be together as a family forever. #badenclay

But didn't he tell Phill Broom about his plans to get a bigger car for his newly blended McHugh family?

Can someone please tell me if they have ever, ever seen someone bring a child into a work meeting?
Ever?
I have serious doubts about this. My husband has taken a sick day when I was too sick to look after our child rather than take her to a meeting

Yep I have. The boss sent me home because of work cover laws. He said my child wasn't covered in the event of an accident. (It was an office)

It is sometimes prescribed PRN for times like PMT or when someone knows that they are going to be in a stressful situation.

Thanks, in my nursing experience, I've never seen it prescribed PRN. I'm not doubting you just never experienced it in 25yrs of nursing :twocents:

every body is awful and only Gerard is nice..

the classic sociopath.

Isn't Century 21 like a franchise? It's a bit of a stretch to claim all those figures for himself as if he owned the whole company IMO. ETA oh now I get it, he means WITHIN C21. Ugh.

Gerard says from September, Jocelyn and Phil "stopped selling". #badenclay

Gerard says they had "massive outflows" and the 2 main sales staff stopped selling. "We weren't able to pay ourselves anything." #badenclay

Gerard says his job was staff training all of them for two weeks. The floods came in the middle of that. #badenclay

Gerard says the core catchment area for his business was the area "most affected by the floods". #badenclay

We don't need the prosecution.

GBC is doing a marvellous hatchet job on himself. Fair dinkum where does this man get off.

I've pulled back from posting here in the last few days.

Without wishing to reveal too much of my own personal life and experience, I find much of what he is saying quite believable. There are many, many shades of grey here. GBC's flaws may be many and great, but he is still a human being and I don't believe he is rotten to the core.

I personally think, if I were on the jury and hearing this for the first time, I would not be feeling there was enough evidence to convict.

There is a school of thought that if a mother is particularly keen on having a child of a particular sex it is actually advisable to not find out beforehand, the idea being that the thrill of meeting the baby mitigates the disappointment of it being the less preferred gender.
I understand what you are saying ( I think) but the thing is much of what he is saying is contradictory or flat out against other testimony.
I think that making statements about a new mother (with two others to look after) sleeping when the baby is sleeping is ridiculous. Every mother knows that mum sleeps when baby sleeps. It's not an indication of anything more than looking after yourself when you are getting up night after night doing feeds.
Not saying there wasn't anything going on but I think it's been stretched and made out to be much worse to tie in with a bigger lie.

11:14am: With business booming, Mr Baden-Clay said he decided to move the agency from Kenmore to 1 Swann Road at Taringa in 2010.

But at that time his business partners Joceyln Frost and Phil Broome "stopped selling".

"We had massive outflows .. and our two key sales performers basically stopped selling ... and that came to a head because we weren't able to pay ourselves anything," he said.

"Phil came to me to ask for money and that's when I borrowed money from Peter Cranna and I gave $6000 to Phil."

Shortly after the January 2010 floods hits.

Gerard says they eventually agreed on a business on Swann Rd, Taringa. #badenclay

Gerard says he always made sure the liabilities of the business were separated from "us as individuals". #badenclay

This bit about the limited liability is deliberately enforcing Peter Cranna's evidence which I heard in court, that the business could fail but Allison and GBC would have no personal liability for as they owned it through a trust. The aim of this is to play down financial concerns. However Peter Cranna was satisfied they had sufficient other personal assets if this happened, namely shares and an investment property. When he said this in court, I was thinking yes but they weren't worth big bucks after the house mortgage.
