I would like to know when he is answering the questions face on are the eyes looking to the right or left?

With all that $5,500 per week he's bound to have gone to the odd NLP course, Venus. Most salespeople do. He'll likely be keeping his eyes lowered whenever he can IMO.

Do Austrailian juries have to vote unanimously in order to get a guilty verdict?

so far, its 100% STRIKE rate, Sleuthy... NO one has escaped being thrown!!.. everybody , except Gerard , was snarky, clingy, demanding, useless, unproductive, draining, predatory, and above all, his debtors..

and isn't it amazing that he, poor Gerard, got stuck with two women who only wanted his body!!.... and his wife didn't!!... how's that for co incidence!!

:floorlaugh:

Wonder what his strike rate was? We know about 3 women......wonder how many rejections???.......

It doesn't add up Bekazzled. GBC is exaggerating and extending time periods of Allison's depression.

It's like someone having a cold for a few days and when retelling story it was a nasty strain of influenza which needed a month's stay in hospital.

Tall tale tellers aren't murderer's, that is for sure. But GBC is on trial for murder and he's stringing himself along as a perfect human being, a SuperMan! An innocent man who was pushed to the brink! This doesn't make sense, so he snapped or he didn't? The funny thing that's what he's selling to me, he had 12 yrs of hell and he snapped! JMHO
Sounds to me he's playing with timelines, that some of these things happened at some level some time ago when she was really depressed and he's trying to imply it was still a current situation which I believe is wrong. By extending truth and hoping the jury will see it as a recent factor it can sound more true than a flat lie.

He said Ms Baden-Clay had a strong maternal connection, which tended to have a protective effect on a person and make them more likely to want to continue living.

“She had plans for herself and plans for her children. She was living and had an active social life,” he said.

We're back. Gerard is talking about borrowing money from friends after the floods and losing partners. #badenclay

Gerard says that's when he arranged to get together with his friends. They agreed to assist financially. #badenclay

Gerard says one of the provisos was that he had complete control of the business. #badenclay

Gerard says in total, he borrowed about $90,000 from each. #badenclay

Gerard said his friends had an active role in monitoring the business. #badenclay

It might be true that he assisted Allison a lot like he says and that he looked after the children, too. This is only evidence of fatherhood, not being a miracle-worker.

However if he wants to be found not guilty he and his lawyer have to establish with as much force as possible that Allison was likely to commit suicide, and in order to do so he and his team have to forcibly ram home the suicide theory, showing that Allison was incapable of leading a normal day-to-day life. If I'm correct, his team must initially present an alternative theory (suicide) and then stick with this theory (I don't think they can change their defence argument part-way through... but I haven't looked up what the law is here in QLD for that. Maybe it's an American court-only rule, but I doubt it - otherwise courtrooms would turn into a circus?)

However I believe a lot of his testimony is contradictory - e.g. how could he be home every day at 5pm to help with the kids if he admitted he stayed late at work about 4 times a week to conduct his affair with Toni? That's why he's getting a lot of mudslinging in his direction - most of his statements don't add up.

Well said and so true.

I could possibly consider jumping off my fence to his side if GBC could just stop over-reaching, contradicting and self-promoting when not playing victim and otherwise running everyone else down for 'lesser human failings than his own.

His greatest contradiction in his own words and my opinion is his dedication/loyalty to his children. He bought himself a Lexus at his wealthiest - not a cleaner, ironing lady, nanny/babysitter or - a trust for the three girls education.

Another piece of shiny metal for his own bits of travel and to 'enhance his appearance to gain male applause? female advances?

His prime motivations and obvious choices undo him as much as at least half of his words which contradict the/se facts. jmo

Well I hope the jury can see what we see and accordingly reach the same verdict as the majority who are watching this case.

Yes he is.
He has a good memory and sees himself as the struggling King.
He was the King of a very disfunctional castle.
Allison was the disfunctional Queen. Who couldn't give him a son.
He rejected her for this reason.
The King was a time bomb , just waiting to explode.
Just ticking away, tick tock,
So Gerard, keep talking, we are listening... :jail:
Hahaha hopefully he'll blow himself up in the stand the more he talks.
Isn't this why they usually keep witnesses to yes or no answers, holes open up.

Maybe he's trying to set up being not guilty of murder due to insanity brought in by Allison not realising his greatness.

Gerard: I saw the floods were certainly a drastic anchor and halt to how things were progressing but that would change. #badenclay

Gerard says it was not an instant turnaround after borrowing the money, but they did slowly improve. #badenclay
